There were people smoking weed and hash outside.

Oh wel, it's just a Dutch custom

You are certainly welcome. But again, I opened this thread to see you people from outside the Netherlands would be planning on using hotels and such if they were to visit our convention. If enough people say yes, maybe we can work something out.

So what you're saying is, we can all stay at yours, right?

Nice one.

I don't think Raymonfd and his friends can organise a Transformations in Amsterdam.

A) Amsterdam is very expensive. The difference would have te be payd by the visitors throug the ticketsale. I think everyone prefers cheaper entrance.

B) A lot of collectors and fans come from other parts of the country. Amsterdam lays in de north western part of Holland. It's beter to look for something in the centre of Holland. Like they did last time

If people realy want to go to Amsterdam on a Holyday and also want to go to the convention, just book a hotel in Amsterdam. There's probably a train going to wherever the convention is. Last time the event was from 11:00 to 17:00 if i'm not mistaken. That gives enought time to have fun in Amsterdam afterwards

Although I agree with Yigal on most, Raymand might want to emphasize his point a little more, as far as Tickets sales are concerned.Sorry but it looked like Raymond was looking at an all round deal with his question. I even tried to asked him in German to clarify that, the same answer came of it  I concur with Amsterdam being like although the other s**tty major Cities being way to expensive, a short trip to the Convention might be better. Especially for all you who need the weed freaks.

We might work out a group deal with an Hotel nearby if enough people give notice that they want to stay overnight. We might work something out to reduce the costs of room then... Might...

My place has no room, and no WAY I'm letting any of YOU near my collection!

Although Amsterdam is more expensive, it doesn't mean it is not worth considering. Amsterdam is not the most central city in the Netherlands, but it is the most recognizable city for foreigners. It is also one of the five major focal points of the Netherlands that is best reached by either car or train.

At this moment we are not concidering Amsterdam, because we have something else in mind. But if all fails, we won't discount Amsterdam as a potential location or as a location for sometime in the future. Just as long as we won't make the same mistakes as with the dutchbot conventions before us, where some were lost and didn't arrive when the convention was already over. (Not to mention that the last location they chose was dark, dank, small and stuffy).

Well,... If the convention is to be held somewhere near...say...Utrecht again,... would people rather stay in Amsterdam or near the convention?

Last time the convention was held in IJsselstein. I live in Amsterdam and travelled from Amsterdam to IJsselstein and back again on the same day. It's maybe a little over an hours travel from point A to point B.

There is nothing to emphasize at this moment. The team is currently approaching this as just a dutch convention, but we're still in the planning stage. I know people have been asking me if they were welcome, eventhough they are not from the Netherlands. So I just want to see if enough people show interrest to stay overnight. If there are a group of them, then we may take into consideration to put more focus of foreign visitors.

Everyone is welcome, I just want to see if there is any need to think about including a hotel in our plans. We're meeting up soon again, so I'm trying to see if there is any need for it.

Well mate whatever... As I will be coming and going home on the same day maybe if I like. Germany and Dutch Country is not that far away. So just give me or us a heads up when you do your convention. Then I will ask mummy if I can come and pay what's to be paid ok, fine.

We can't force the stands to lower their prices, that's their call. But we do hope that they do try to make something out of it. One stand gave away a free pvc figure with each 50 euro purchase. Now that's a nice idea for a convention. I hope stand will try to top that next year. We want the fans to come away with a good feeling when they spend every dime. Not just a broke feeling. I think we pulled that off last year.

Our goal was just to break even. So we didn't ask a few hunderd euro per table for all the stands. Our price per table was 50 euro (if I'm not mistaken) although we only had a limited number of tables to give out. That in turn caused the sellers not to go into overdrive to make a profit, by first trying to get their costs out of being there. Since most had their money out of it with their first two or so items sold. I believe that made a huge difference in creating a good atmosphere between everyone there.
