Yes, that's got me interested as well as he is constantly saying he can't build a body out of Earth technology.

Possible spoilers on his earth alt mode below:
Isn't it some big helicopter gunship? Or was that his Cybertronian form?

Ace episode- surprised at how many of Kaye's intonation's match Greg Berger's. Like he's done prep by listening to him perform beforehand.

Lol, have you watched the movie, and beast machines?!?

Wait, this isn't the Powerpuff Girls forum? Dammit! Yes I have watched the movie and Beast Machines. Was obviously not paying enough attention to this episode. I'll go back and watch it again at some point.

*Cringes at the thought that he's still got some Powerpuff Girls Z episodes to watch*
But more importantly, we now know which channel is going to be showing Animated in the UK.

Nickelodeon? Really wasn't expecting that!
Though I guess it fits what with Spongebob and Patrick providing voices.

I don't see why Cartoon Network didn't buy the rights for both territories. It just seems odd for CN to air it in the US and not the UK when the channel is available in both.

Good episode. I'd hope for something more... "more", but I'm not complaining. You know what I realize? What makes TFA enjoyable from a Transfan's side? It's defining. TF always suffered from that; you had G1 running its course and everything after that just kept doing things at random. Who is Grimlock? A freaking crane. But TFA follows the basics. Yes, the story is different, yes, the characters aren't entirely the same, but the Autobots fought a war with the Decepticons and not over some stupid gimmick, the Autobots are workers, the Decepticons warriors, the Dinobots are Autobot dinosaur robots, with their names straight and so on and so forth.
By the way, any theories about getting Sludge and Snarl in?

Well in that sense I'd say it's about equal with the other series in terms of homeages to G1. What makes this series so different for me apart from the obvious art direction is the script and characterisations.

I wasn't referring to the homages. I was talking about mythos elements that should be left largely unchanged. Like Superman and Kryptonite; now matter how much you tamper with it, Kryptonite will still be the lethal rock from Krypton.
And Animated is lacking a tad in terms of characterization. It's pretty basic stuff in that regard so far; still too early, so I'm not complaining, but it has barely touched the character archetypes of those involved.

I finally saw Transform and Roll out last night. Loved it, I've like the animation style from the off, but always felt that the series itself would be a little...kiddified, but it really isn't, it has child-friendly elements but I think overall it's more mature than any of the more recent series.

Characterisation's hitting us hard and fast- more so than the animes or the original cartoon. Certainly more than IDW's current line of comics. I shouldn't worry.

I'd say the characters are pretty well defined from the get go. At first glance it's evident that Bulkhead is the big dumb one, Bumblebee the joker, Prowl the reserved one, Racthet the grumpy one and Prime being the leader.
Simple, but effective. From watching segments of Cybertron I couldn't honestly say what alot of their characters were supposed to be like. And obviously since this is just the start there's room to develop them further.
