I chose preds for many reasons. The predacon action figures were much cooler IMO than the maximal ones. Megatron, Scorponok, Inferno come to mind.
Inferno and Blackarachnia (two former "maximal" protoforms) are much more prevalent throughout the show than Tigatron/Airrazor.
The predacon personalities were way more diverse at the Pred base. Everyone over there has their own agenda, with Tarantulas wanting to escape Earth, Terrorsaur wanting to overthrow megatron, Dinobot defecting to the Maximals, Waspinator always getting blown up, etc etc. The Preds just had so much more going on, IMO.
