| The arcee plot made perfect sense. Arcee is mental and dangerous for some reason, gets put in jail, scary combiner bots are at same jail, bad guys break scary bots out, cause mess, good guys let arcee out of jail to stop them, find out why she is mental, watch her bugger off to get revenge. Whats hard to understand about that? |

Sorry- should have been more concise. I meant the plot point of Arcee being a transgendered transformer.

Yes- do you use the same name on the IDW forums?
I agree with you- it was silly, assuming that English is not supposed to be
there first language why would they normally refer to each other as 'he'.
It was silly- but I liked bit of the art work- some of the coloring was iffy
though.
Still, yet more characters, what is this Banzitron guy- we last saw him like 9
months ago- so annoying, because I bet we wont see him again anytime
soon!

Aye, I'm Matrix on IDW too. And yeah, as I said- why would they refer to themselves by a pronoun that to them doesn't even exist?

It would sound wrong if they all referred to each other by 'it'.

But of course. When they refer to each other as 'he' it's just default- it's just their language translated for convenience. In reality, when they refer to themselves, they're referring to themselves by their own personal pronoun.
But what Furman did was break the fourth wall, as it were. He effectively pointed out that the Transformers are all speaking in a language other than their own.
This is only a minor point in the argument however, and shouldn't really be thought about too much.

Dev 6 read like a sodding sales catalogue for IDW. Every other page was a bloody Spotlight reference.
Absolutely horrendous way to 'end' a story. I grow nostalgic for the days when endings actually bloody well had endings.
I'm getting sick to high heaven of Furman's use of deus ex machina and cheap death. He's regressing. This crap's far worse than 'The Enemy Within', his first ever Transformers story, as at least that had a sodding character focus.
I haven't been to the IDW boards since suggesting some of the Spotlights missed the mark like a Dustin Diamond porno. I may have to return at this rate. Seriously disappointing.

Hurrah- I said he was regressing on the boards there too. His dialogue in older works is far less trite than it is currently.

In all seriousness, every other page = spotlight reference.
We get it. Synergy. Well done. Now write a f**king ending that ties up at least one loose end.
He's got Pirates of the Carribean syndrome. 'If you don't know how to end something right, chuck a shedload of extra characters in'.

Well I guess the Reapers are done now.
They love him on the IDW boards though! You would think him a modern
day Dickens

There was so much more those reapers could have done. Killing them off after 4 issues just seems like furman cleaning up a badly thought through idea. Like he tried to do with Beast Wars The Ascending.

I'm glad they are gone- never developed, no one saw them as a real threat-
good riddance I say!

They deserved a spotlight or a couple of issues of their own before they all got wiped out though. Especially as i cant actually fathom why they started shooting up chateaux de Con in the first place.

I can't fathom why they existed in the first place. The Sixshot one-shot would have been better without them, I think they were a cheap swerve that took an interesting character down the wrong path.

At least with revelation theyve gone whole hog and just made them into spotlights rather than just referencing them every other panel.

Well at least it made one point clear: decapitation will not kill a Transformer. Having your head crushed on the other hand...
It's a bit of a shame Beavis and Butthead are gone though. Sure, they were just no-brain-all-brawn, but at least they gave the 'Cons some road coverage. Who are they going to call in for that? The Stunticons?
