just looking to clear something up, the combiner teams from G1 all are available individually packaged and usually come up on ebay etc. The giftsets however am not to sure which ones were actually released either in the united kindom or the usa. Have come across devastator and superion  but the rest i.e defensor, bruticus, menasor, piranacon and my fav predaking i havent a clue please help as im after all of them if they are available. Read somewhere that predakings set only came out in japan which sucks.

all combiners came out in giftsets and are very hard to get

you have

superion, computron, defensor, bruticus, abominus, menasor, predaking, piranacon, devastator

then thers the ones like, dino king japan only and a few others, monstructor being another one but im not sure if this was a giftset or not

the giftsets will set you back around £150 upawards i think for a good one

yu can get a predaking reissue for about £150 which i think would be the best bet as a non reissue would be around £250 id say if you can find one

im in the same boat as you with the giftsets, i have menasor, defensor and devastator at the mo, looking at superion now, even though i alread have him with box and card backs id like a gifset version

the decepticon ones, i dont know if i could spend that much on them im not sure, so will depend how bad i want it and how good it is, as im looking at almost £200 a piece if i can find them

my best advice would just get them loose unless you plan on keeping them in boxes and in dark cupboards

Alright, you've got:

Devastator: US, Japan, Italy, Mexico (exported to UK and elsewhere in Europe)
Superion: Worldwide
Menasor: Worldwide
Defensor: US, Japan, Italy
Bruticus: US, Japan, Italy
Predaking: Japan
Computron: US, Japan, Italy
Abominus: US, Japan, Italy
Piranacon: US (sans Nautilator), Japan
Raiden: Japan
Lio Kaiser: Japan
Dinoking: Japan

Guard City: Japan
Battle Gaia: Japan

I fairly certain that's complete, but I'm running from memory so there might be an error or two.

The loose ones are dead easy to come across, was hoping to get a box for my predaking and not a custom box either ( loads of fake devastator boxes doing the rounds at the moment to) not really interested in the jap only lines.  Prices for the giftsets are steep and keeping them in a cupboard is how my collections stored anyways (girlfriends orders ) So you are 100% certain that il one day see bruticus, abominus, etc etc giftsets.  yikes creditcard will come in handy lol

Seacons seem to be really expensive at the moment, picked up loose mint abominus for around £50 but on average piranacon goes well over £80 ouch.

Piranacon can be had cheap, you've just got to keep your eyes peeled for poorly listed job lots. I got mine complete for something like £38 that way.

£38 for piranacon lucky sod lol.

nice pic, just googled another piranacon pic afa graded (i can dream lol).  See loads of combiners just not complete (ebayers put weapons on for stupid prices .  And why oh why the jap version gets the sixth one in the giftset is annoying.  Only picked up Abominus on a whim few days back as ive never come across one for sale loose (complete) or boxed. Then again ive only started collecting again for around 2 months lol.  collections tiny at around 30ish G1.

Well I didn't get Piranacon complete for £38 - found Seawing at a car boot sale in beautiful condition for £1 in 2001, got Snaptrap, Nautilator and Skalor complete for £28 a few months later from a friend, Tentakil at the start of 2002 for £3 on eBay, Overbite with gun at Auto Assembly 2003 for £4, his claws at AA04 for £2 and traded for Tentakil's guns later that year.

So all in all it took about 3 years to finish him off. But I was damn satisfied by the end.

Also, if it was sold in the US it was all also sold in Canada.  We are like the sane, stable sibling to the unstable and 27% insane US.

lol prefer canada to the US, there president likes to blow 3 trillion on war (sorry oil exploitation) the fool.  Does look like il be picking up the odd piece for piranacon, could work out cheaper than a bidding war for a 100% comp one.  Still if any of the giftsets comeup, my credit cards waiting lol.

Prices are going threw the roof for a lot of the tfs.         &n bsp;         &n bsp;     Not to mention people on ebay having there mates push the prices up on items (swines) oh and afterwards you get a message (you've recieved a second chance offer), im quite polite when i reply

Quite enjoying buying the odd member of a combiner team for a few quid here and there, my gesalt line up looks like its gone to war, gone to hospital and had arms and legs amputated lol.

Somewhere along the lines of "sodd off", "get bent" and "get the BEEEEEEEP out of here" I take it?
