In the comics, he became much more interesting as Goldbug (one of Budiansky's better pieces of writing), and even more so when he became a Pretender. He finally threw off the strain of being the small tyke he was before.

Just a shame that after the Primus story he was mostly ignored (together with Jazz) and the classic Pretenders' shells never appeared again.

cartoon, it'd have to be Huffer in the Sunbow series, and Sixshot in

I'd have to say that most if not all of the first two seasons' characters in the cartoons were all right... It started getting ridiculous after the movie. Didn't care one bit for Blurr, Wheelie, Daniel, Galvatron [after the movie]. Some of the dumb storylines like Carnage in C-Minor didn't help.

In my opinion season 3 was the best of G1, i will admit there were afew dodgy episodes, but there were also in the other seasons 2 the girl who loved power glide, roll for it, autobot spike, hoist goes to hollywood anyone. Season 3 gets the stick cos of rodimus  thought he was great. Also season 3 had  most of my fav g1 episodes like all the 5 faces of darkness, dark awakening, webworld,the ultimate weapon and fight or flee, series 2 was the worst by a mile, Season 3 was a lot darker yea like animated we got the filler crap, but the good ones were good the bad ones were bad. Just like animated is now, a good 1 then a crapy human villain 1, the 2 parters are also good. Beast wars apart from 1 or 2 was great, with very few filler, season 1 has its off points i guess. Anyway who was a crap character apart from the umans Blurr and wheelie, i also was not fond of starscream. The animated 1 is way better.
