 Ahh yeah it's a shame he didn't get more screen time. That one scene he was in was easily my faveourite in the movie. It just seemed to be well thought out compared to some of the others.

 Plus as a design, Bonecrusher is easily one of the more original imo.

yeah I puzzle about that also but for toys I notice that as well.. but funny he cut his tail when he go into dune desert...  and I not know if he still alive in later film and but for toy yeah I not like buy him for that.

 Scorponok does indeed transform. You see it for a split second in robot mode before it transforms in mid-air and dives into the ground. It's very heard to see though. For a better look at his robot mode I guess the toy is the only option. I'm pretty sure they didn't even design the robot mode properly.
