Hi Chaps,

I've been a long TF fan but at the end of 2006 I sold a huge part of my collection as I was moving and had bugger all room for them.

I'm now getting back into the hobby and I want to re-collect the series I like the most: Binaltech.  I've tracked down a few of the figures and can get hold of a few more but I've come into difficulty getting the following; White Meister, Grimlock and Police Prowl.

Bar Ebay, does anyone know where I could pick these figures up?  Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

JetfireUK

Meister = in hell, because you'll have to sell your soul to find one.

Jazz and Prowl in particular are going to be tough, not many people seem to be selling them, and then it's mostly the Alt versions. Offhand, your best bet is to trawl through places like TFW2005. None of the UK online shops have them, and I doubt any of the US ones do, at least at a reasonable price.

Incidentally, though it's not a BT, I do have an Alt Jazz on the way from the USA via surface mail, which I'm not sure whether to keep or sell on. If you were to make an offer, I'd think about it. ;)

You should have asked a few months earlier, I had all three for sale. They're already gone though.

Thanks for the feedback chaps.  It looks like I'm going to have to sell my soul to get hold of Meister and Prowl and somehow get someone to use a US site to get hold of Grimlock.

Ironically I had all three figures in the past.  Ah well.  Part of the fun is hunting for them again.

Indeed!  I do love the Binaltech range though.  I might have tracked down a white Meister and Grimlock though.  Whats considered a reasonable price in £ for these bad boys MIB?

I'm not aiming to be a completist as I know that the BT1 Smokescreen would be a nightmare to find - but I do think that Meister and Grimlock are two of the nicest figures from the range.

Are the BTA range difficult to get by the way?

BT JAzz seems to be going for around $150.
Dunno about Grimlock. Another option is to wait for the upcoming Jazz release. He's in movie colours (ie silvery rather than white) and has the BT Shockwave car body, but will be cheaper and easier to find than the original.

As for BTA, Sunstreaker is the most common, he seems to be fairly cheap. Guess he's not too popular. Then Red Alert, and lastly BTA Broadblast, the last probably due to scarcity rather than popularity.

$150 - is that around £75 for Meister?

Out of all three I'd want White Meister the most, the Mazda is a gorgeous car and the transformer is the nicest in my opinion.  I will get the forthcoming silver version with the Laserwave body kit but I did like the original one.

I'm glad that BTA Sunstreaker is the most common as the Viper is another one of my favourite molds too.  Any idea of cost for that figure.  One thing I did find though was that Red Alert and Sunstreaker didn't align properly.

Having owned both BT and Alt Meisters, I have to say, the Alt is superior. The colour of the metal on the BT just doesn't go with the plastic.. weird cream/beige colour.

Same with Grimlock. If you want real-life accuracy, the Alt is better - flat metal colour engine and hubs instead of chrome.

Apart from those exceptions BTs win hands down.

Really? Not the case with mine. Perhaps you were unlucky.

The feel of the BT is nicer if your a G1 fan.  Just the cool touch of the metal brings back 1st two years of tf memories  lol.  I have both    Just Got my Alt Hot Rod.  and I have all the molds.

Just missing the KISS player series (child Porn series), and see though Mirage.  Even have some spares, but not for sale yet  lol.  Waiting to see what a spare Nemi and Prime go for in 10 years.

But I love my BTs better then the alts for no other feeling then the actual feel.  But Spec is right as they age, the metal and plastic does fade differently. Some of the metal colours are just not the right shade too as compared to heir plastic sections

I am on the fence wit hthe new Bt's  The Mazda and Subaru mold are some of the best, yet the Honda one is pathetic.  I might get the green dodge if they make it Hoist or even do movie stickers and make it Ratchet

Thanks for the info chaps.

Just as an update, I've sourced a BT Wheeljack and might have tracked down a seller for a BT White Meister and Grimlock.  If I can get the Meister/Grimlock seller to agree a price then it'll be happy days.

If not, there's one on Dutch eBay for €62 shipped to the UK.

Thanks Iceman, I'm waiting to see what happens with the other figure first - but it's definitely an option.

Slightly off-topic now - how hard is it to pick up Alternator Mirage - is he rarer than white Meister is now?

Another update...

Looks like I might have sourced a BT White Meister with the Reprolabels attached.  How hard is it to remove reprolabels - presumably if I soak them in water they'll come off?

That's not the one Alex Kingdom is selling, is it?
