Surely they will both cost far to much for the BBC to pay!

Grant's played the Doctor twice- I fail to see the problem!
Tennant's meant to be offered 1 million to stay on for series 5.

Nighy is a $3m a film actor- so I think that rules him out
Grant will be in Aus for most of late 2008 and 2009 on stage, so I think that
would rule him out

Knowing how PC the Beeb are going, I can see them considering a black/asian guy. Who would you want if they do?

Bill Nighy was paid $3 mil for a role? Get out. Apart from Pirates of the Caribbean 2, he's usually in smaller movie parts. Where'd you hear this?
Biggest thing after Pirates he did recently is Shaun of the Dead. $3 million for that? Surely not.

Samuel L. Jackson, because no Doctor Who villain has ever been called a mother- to their face, Wesley Snipes because he'd just do kung fu on all their asses, or if you wanted someone with more... Distinction, go for Morgan Freeman.
He should regenerate as Brian Blessed for lulz.

Could be good. I'm having a hard time imagining him in the Tardis. He's been excellent in most things he's done. *Reminds self to buy Jekyll on DVD*

The guy who plays Mickey in Hustle would be on my list for an ethnic Doctor. I've seen him in a few plays he's done and he's a very versatile actor.

True. I'm stumped to think of anyone else that could fit.

I think that rumour about the doctor's hand being involved in some way might have some substance. Why else would they have done a long lingering shot of it at the start of the episode?

It could just be that tennant is going nowhere, and just grows a new body from his hand. What concerns me more is will the daleks wait around while he recovers from his regeneration?

There's a vague not-showing-any-spoilers-at-all episode preview video available for mobile download now from the beeb Clicky clickington not sure if it'll work on your fancy home computing machines, but it worked good on my phone.

If he DOES regenerate into someones else, then they managed to keep that one DAMN quiet. And concidering every major spoiler since the series began ended up leaked, that's some achievement. And if he doesn't.. Well then people will rage at a lazy cliffhanger resolving itself with a cheap deus ex machina (see:Rise of the Cybermen) seeing as a Dalek ray is supposed to be always fatal, glancing hit or not. If he does change then that wipes out the River Song timeline (who is supposed to meet the Doctor with his Tennant face) and although all in all, RTD HAS actually managed not to do anything stupid at all these last few episodes, I fear for the resolution of this regeneration.
