Is Torchwood even getting a third season? Nothing's been announced at all on the subject apart from a few new books and a radio play
(Both the last book and radio show will depict TW as a threesome of just Jack, Gwen and Ianto).

Torchwood's getting a third series, aye. It's supposedly getting a substantial reworking too.

Cool news. Reworked how? (I thought Season Two was a remake in itself!)

No idea- it's just what I've heard tossed around. I could be wrong though. ;_:

Another thing that annoyed me about RTD was his constant inserting of his own views on politics sexuality
and religion, it was obvious and annoying. And that's as an agnostic
politically mixed bisexual, even I found the contant "LOL EVERYONE
LIKES TEH COCK IN THE FUTURE, THERE IS NO GOD, CAPITALISM SUCKS" bits
irritating. His attempts at satire just came across as purile. Overall,
I thank RTD for reviving the series (the BBC needed a "hip" writer to
convince the suits to give it a go), but seriously, GTFO.

Being fair, he doesn't present people as being bisexual in the future- he presents them as being onnisexual.
I find his agenda annoying in Torchwood only- its significantly exaggerated online for its presence in Doctor Who, but its very, very obvious in Torchwood.

Amongst all the RTD hating we have to all agree on the one fundamental truth: that he took a series that (to be fair) was only being kept alive in the hearts and minds of the original fans and their kids (even the videos / DVD are made by fans that are now in the buisness) and made a multi-million money-making franshise out of it (it's only this morning that I saw a toddler begging his mum to buy a toy TARDIS at the shop, that is something I would've NEVER seen 5 years ago!) so I'm grateful to him for that.
My big problem with him is that in interviews nearly EVERY creative idea in the stories were claimed to have been invented entirely by him and I think that's wrong as there are some very talented writers on that show that are more than capable of creating good tales without him slapping that "mark" onto them, head writer or not.

Apparently he's always refused to touch or edit Moffat's ideas or scripts. Possibly why they're so good- he's admitted to going through and editing other people's submitted work.
Explains a lot of the silly moments in otherwise serious episodes.

That trailer that keeps appearing every five minutes on bbc1 makes the next few episodes look good, but if its anything like last year, It's made up of about 7 episodes all edited together to make the series look better, when in fact we're probably due another four agatha bloody cristie episodes first...

Silence, fool! Agatha Christie is preferable to Love And Monsters!

Not really a spoiler per see, only an indication of what week "the one where Rose is on" is on.

They're hardly lying if they're advertising the rest of the series. What would be lying is showing things that don't occur ala The Golden Compass trailer. -_-
Complaining that episodes appear that aren't advertised is like going to watch a movie and complaining when scenes that don't occur in the trailer happen.

I don't know why, but I am actually excited about tomorrows' episode (I thik it's because it's an Moffat episode) and also the clips I've seen so far spell out "funny and creepy" perfectly well.

Wow, best ep this season. Moffat couldn't have been given control any sooner, the guy's written not a single weak episode, one can only hope he keeps up his quality of writing as series producer. I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on, this is such a good thing, I mean I have a few ideas but generally I'm pretty much in the dark (heh) as to what's actually going on with the girl and Donna. Also, nice role for Steve Pemberton, I think they've had half of the League of Gentlemen appear in the new series so far.
Anyone spot what MIGHT have been a Halo reference? Or was it just coincidence that the episode featured a cylopean floating orb claiming guardianship of a Library? They've had obvious references to 2000AD (The Macra ep) and possible references to Doom (Impossible Planet/Satan Pit featured the door-opening sound effects from the game, plus the general look of the episode was very Doomlike) so why not sneak a Halo reference in?
And watching Moffat on Confidential, he's very aware of creating recognisable catchphrases for his monsters, "are you my mummy?" being his best known, and now we have "who turned out the lights?". And I think the idea of the suit-monster is brilliant. The guy has a real talent for creating genuinely creepy villains. Gasmask zombies that'd convert you with a touch, statues that moved when you weren't looking, clockwork androids that hid under beds, and now a microbe-animated corpse in a biosuit. :) I really look forward to the next episode.
And the 'ghosting' of the neural uplinks is creepy as f**k. I mean it really makes you think and shudder at once...
