Nope; it's a criminal offence to say your a solicitor / trainee when you're not. So officially I'm "in training" but not a trainee till I've signed my training contract. Lawyer is kind of a generic term with little meaning.
On forms I always fill in position as "clerk". If I'm no allowed to write anything fun, I'm clearly going to pick the shortest alternative

I want to call myself a solicitor. Even though i'm not. What kind of punishment can i expect for this crime? Not that i'm going to go to court or anything, i just wanted to sound cool.
