Original Megatron voice Petition?

Has anyone done this on any boards for the next movie.
As an old school fan am still upset about Frank Welker not being Megatron. Its like if Lucas had someone else do the voice for Darth Vader.
Peter Cullen, the original voice of Optimus Prime and Frank Welker reprises his role of Megatron in the Transformers 2007 Action Game.
Why not the movies?
We are the ones that buy the tickets and toys and everything else.
Mr Bay did change the Megatrons face after we spoke up.
Frank Welker needs to come back to the fold.

Did you see how the fans of Jericho got the show back?
The sent peanuts to the studios and said "Nuts to them"

Maybe we have to do something like this to get them to listen

the link to the 2007 DVD Petition

let me hear ya.

Frankly. I don't and never did want Welker. The guy can't do the voice anymore and even if he could, it just doesn't suit a credible villain like movie megs. "Too saturday morning cartoon".

Hugo Weaving's voice rocked. (And why would they change a characters voice mid-saga anyway?)

Welker wouldn't suit this new Megs.

They shouldn't have hired Weaving anyways. He wasn't billed and you couldn't tell him because there were too many effects.

In direct contrast you can tell Andy Serkis is the voice of Gollum in The Lord of The Rings, and King Bohan in Heavenly Sword. Both peices of VA were amazing. Hardly anyone who is a casual movie goer knew Weaving was Megatron. Name wasn't on any posters etc.

Are they even having Megatron in the second movie? If they are going to bring Galvatron in then I say bring back Leonard Nimoy

Nimoy was an awesome Galvatron. He's a big name too. I'm all for that.

Trouble was, Nimoy hated his role in the original movie.

I'm not sure it would in this case.

That said - he knew it was a "stupid toy movie" as he put it before he did it...so who knows..

Welker's video game Megatron sounded awful, like he had a really bad sore throat. And it really only had a vague 'that sounds almost familiar' resemblance to his g1 toon voice. If they're going to change Meg's voice in the sequel they should just get the guy from TFA to do it, he has the proper amount of menace, without sounding as pompous as David Kaye's armenertron voice.

Isn't it awfully late for this now?  The movie has been and gone; but more importantly Megatron is kinda out of the picture currently cos of those 'swimming lessons'.

I'm pretty happy with Weaving doing the voice despite my love of G1. Besides, I hate it when they change VA's without good reason

I agree with you guys about changing megatrons voice.frank welker is alegend.they had him to reprise his role in this movie.but they decide to change him at the last moment.that's not the only voice he did. There were a few other transformers he did as well.samething with peter cullen.he also was the voice of ironhide in thecartoon.myquestion is this.why bay didn'tlet cullen do the voice of ironhide as well ?welker did the voice of ratchet.soundwave.and bonecrusher etc.

Heh, I don't recall him ever being in the running for the role.  I think he had an audition, but it never went any further than that.

Anyway, i'm not looking for g1 homages in the live action movies anymore. We've got tfanimated for that now, and that's doing g1 winky overload. Yay

TFA might as well be called TFG1 Reanimated. (but without the zombies)

As much as i would have liked Megs and Prime as their G1 voices only Cullen sounded the same. as has been said Welker did a really bad voice in the TF: LAM Game. it sounded s**t!

saying that the guy is in EVERYTHING as of late, can't watch a cartoon with an animal in it which isn't voiced by Welker

Zombies cool.

Imagine Optimus Prime as a... oh, already been?  Well then, how about Starscream?  Oh... well, I'm sure there are others who haven't been zombies.  Dinobot?  Well, not really a zombie but a reanimation.  So, I guess zombie, but not really.  I'll get back to you.

Btw, Transformer Zombies!  In case you have forgotten.

Doesn't space barnacle infection pretty much make the equivalent of a zombie? In which case, we've already seen them.
