TFormers have uploaded a gallery of Classics Universe figures shown at BotCon. Obviously this gallery showcases the up-and-coming wave 2.0 but there are also some repaints in there. Some we already knew about such as Blaster and Heavy Duty but some are new. Specifically Blades (GF Live Convoy repaint), Dropshot (GF Backgild repaint), Red Alert (Cybertron Legends Excellion repaint) and Starscream (Cybertron Legends Thundercracker repaint). There also appears to be a repaint of Cybertron Legends Fast Gunner although who it's supposed to be is unclear. Hasbro have also repeated their mistake with Heavy Duty in that they've made another "Classic" who never was a character in the first place. In this case it's Acid Storm, a Classics Starscream repaint.

I believe that the Fast Gunner repaint is Onslaught

Acid storm might be a loose reference to one of the three seekers that bring acid rain down on chip and three bots on cybertron...can't remember what episode it was.

Looking forward to getting sunstreaker, prowl, galvatron and powerglide.

You know, it just came to me: Tankor looks a lot like Overlord.

Acid Storm is just plain stupid. Why not make it Sunstorm? I can think of only one single problem with that, and that is the previous Universe Sunstorm could cause confusion. This thing is just worthless.

Blades clearly has the wrong colour scheme. In fact, they should swap his with Powerglide's. Then both figures would be correct.

Dropshot will be quite unpopular - they've used the name, why not the colour as well? Otherwise they should have chosen a different name. I'd say Flak? Sure, he's a darker green, but he's still green, and the mode fits a lot better.

I think Percy is right, I can quite clearly read Onslaught on his name tag.

What is it with Hasbro and Cybertron repaints, didn't they already have their fill from flooding the movie range with them?

Acid Storm I don't hate, nor do I like.  All it does is make me wonder why the f**k is he not called Wing Stun.

Acid Storm? More like Fail Storm.

Drops**t is stupid. If you're going to make an obscure Micromaster reference, why not make it Flak? If they gave it Flak's name/colours I'd have bought it for novelty value. Dropshot was a blue APC thing with a twin barrelled gun. Flak was the SPG missile launcher thing. Drops**t is just nothing.

That's a nice idea about Flak. Makes me want to see a Powerglide repaint as Sunrunner as I think the scheme would suit him quite well.

*looks up Wing Stun on TFU* Yeah, I wanna know why Acid Storm's not called that too.

No! Don't give Hasbro any ideas! Not more repaints!

As for Wing Stun, that name was thought up by Takara. Hasbro probably doesn't even know the name or toy exists.

Hasbro have pinched their names before.  Excellion and the Galaxy Force prefix repaints are good examples of this.

He is, and the photograph on Hasbro's website shows him with long smokestacks. Maybe Hasbro have found a workaround to that little issue. Either that out they're just using a stock image of he figure. I have no issue with Silverstreak being a Prowl repaint either, as that's what Bluestreak was in G1.

You're reading it wrong.  It is only a tacked on reference to the 25th anniversary of the Transformers brand.

I can't really see Silverbolt making the MP line either.  Would be one awesome figure if he did, but I just can't see him being made before the other more popular 'dead-certs'*.....

*Assuming, of course, that the MP line is to continue?  Not heard of any new announcements since Skywarp was released (other than the inevitable Thundercracker repaint, which only half-counts, being a repaint and all...).

It's looking quite likely that TakTom are going to be making Grimlock the next Masterpiece figure. It was rumoured some months ago and I think something was mentioned at BotCon.
