You say that, but bus and taxi fares are gonna go up too, to cover their fuel costs. Wilts and Dorset were on the local radio this mornign syaing they're going to have to raise prices by around 15% to cover the fuel, but will have to cut alot of services to stay profitable as noone will use the buses with the prices being too high.

Would take me longer too.

Think about it, walking involves leaving house, locking front door behind me, walking to end of garden, down the road, and into work.

Driving involves ,leaving house, locking front door, walking to end of garden, round the back to the garage, unlocking car, getting in the car, inserting the key, turning the key, putting on seat  belt, swtiching on radio (possibly cd and then time to select disc / track) possibly switching on lights / wipers / air con / lowering window, pushing in clutch, selecting gear, removing handbrake, lifting clutch / lowering accelerator, reversing out of parking space, along drive and into road, driving (wouldn't get out of first gear over this distance) lift foot off accelerator and onto brake and depressing clutch, indicate to park, stopping, putting car in neutral, putting on handbrake, turning off lights/ air con/ stereo / wipers/ raising window / turning off the engine, removing key, unbuckle seat belt, open door, climb out, close door, lock car, walk into work.

Add to that adjusting the seat / mirror if the missus drove last and those 52 seconds of walking seem much less effort!

that why they keep change up and down price.. fuel for any kind car or truck  I hate it.. now they did change few cars and trucks had new with Hyrid like that..

Walking to work ain't an option when works about 15 miles away. Plus I have to use the car for the disability playscheme work I do part-time as well. Costs £45 to fill up my 1.4 litre 206 when empty.

Time for another fuel protest I say, who's with me?
