lol well yes.

But at a guess it wont be about the wider war itself, it will be focused on
foiling a Nazi or Soviet secret plot with Cap

I am not sure an hero going evil, or having and evil clone would work- to
much to tell as they have to establish the team as well in the one movie.

I would suggest they either go for an alliance of Marvel bad guys or just pick
one of their uber villains.

if they ever do that film- which will tough to do right now- as the film
franchises are in very different places and the JLA film went tits up- they
should use Darksied as the antagonist

It's most likely to be Red Skull as the villain, who is indeed an evil version of Cap.

err ish yes.

He has similar powers and skills- though not exact. I think Casper was
going for a more literal 'evil' version. Red Skull looks significantly different.

Comics wise there have been 3 Red Skulls. 2 Nazi's and a Soviet.

I assume we will be treated to the Steve Rogers Cap- who is now dead dead
dead in the comics

Dead dead dead until they bring him back again. There's only so long a Bucky barnes cap can last...

which I am fine with- as long as it is nothing stupid- such as the Civil War
one was a Skrull etc

Or even worse as they did with One More Day- the worst comic event ever

no it is what danny said,

Ironmonger = evil version of Iron Man,
The Abomination = evil version of the Hulk.

even venom and carnage are evil versions of spider-man because he was either the first or strongest thing they bonded with.

don't think so lowly of me

Abomination does not= evil Hulk- have you ever read a Hulk comic- they
are totally different, other than they were created in a broadly similar
fashion in the comic- though not in the new film

I'd also say Carnage is not an evil Spiderman. Also, Spiderman is neither the
first or most powerful thing the symbiot has bonded with

The only one that works is Iron Man/ Monger.

Having broadly similar powers and two arms and two legs does not make an
enemy an 'evil version'

ha ha

Well Iron Man and Iron Monger are both weapons developers out of the
suit and metal clad warriors within- so I see the comparison.

I guess even Venom and Spidy as there powers are similar (Carnage's are
different) and even Brock and Parker have similar ambitions- though
Brock is no longer Venom, Gargan is.

But Bruce Banner and Blonsky have different careers, very different
personalities and even different powers.

My point is doing something like hat would be very hard to do in a 2h
film, they have to set up the team, get them working together etc the
villian needs to be fairly standard, easy to explain as a viable threat.

An evil version of Iron Man, is something for Iron Man to deal with, not
the Avengers.

As for Red Skull- he is broadly similar to Cap in terms of powers- in
terms of character it very much depends on which version of Red Skull
they go with

I know the examples rent exactly evil versions of the character, but you can see the polarity and similarity. hulk abomination - both big green powerhouses. iron man iron monger - both guys in suits of armour. cap and red skull - both guys with super soldier serums.

Skull seems more likely to me than zemo, because doesnt have the above similarity, or any powers.

I dont think they have even made Abomination green in the current film.

Zemo while not having super powers (technically neither do Cap or Skull), is
as skilled in combat as either and he has the Moonstones which make him
car more powerful than either. See Civil War where takes out Caps entire
team by himself.

I think they will go with Skull, just because more people know who he is.

No, but not everyone watch Transformers and we saw how much friction it caused when things were changed in that.

Thats a bit different- the film was very different to all comic and toy
lines- also TF started as toys.

All Marvel/ DC films start as comics, there main appeal is to comic fans.
Also, all the characters look as they do in the comics- hell the Iron Man armor in the film is what he currently wears in the comic.

They are produced by Marvel Studios- a comic company. The only way
people know about the characters is comics moving into pop culture over
the many years.

Where these films depart from what made the comic characters a success
the films fail- Batman & Robin, Hulk (box office at least), Blade III, X3.
