I know I asked this before but I don't remember if it was on this board. (It probably was)

Now that we're in 2008, has Cullin ever stated why he never provided his voice for any of the TF cartoons since Beast Wars?

He's around doing Toonami announcements so why the heck has he not been doing work for these new cartoons? I just find it frustratingly silly that we have Transformers Animated right now and he's still not providing his voice. This defies all logic.

I think the reason why ol' Petey didn't do Beast Wars - up was because the VA-ing was done by a different studio based in another location from him (somewhere out in Canada, I believe), and so he couldn't do it. Also it might've been a case of "been there, done that" at that stage for him. Same for Welker: apparently the BW producers wanted to use him for G1 Megs but a whole reel of red tape prevented them from doing so. I don't know if this is fact or fiction though.

Cullen's voice is too 'old' sounding for animated prime. Much as i dislike David Kaye's portrayals of megatron, i can't fault his optimus in animated.

Well he doesn't have to do prime. I just mean provide his voice for any character in general.

True. However, I can not fault Prime or Megatrons voice either, Starscream is cool. However BB and Lugnuts are crap <annoying.

Listening to Henriksen playing Lockdown, he'd make a badass Prime voice!

I completely agree. In previous series of Transformers Optimus Prime has been the hardened veteran who commands the entire Autobot army. In Animated he's nothing more than an Academy dropout who repairs Space Bridge nodes. To have a voice like Cullen's would made him sound far more experienced than he is.
Out of interest fudge, what don't you like about Kaye's Megatron voices? I agree it sounds a little odd on the Unicron Trilogy Megatrons but that might just be because I'm used to the japanjese versions. However for Beast Wars and Beast Machines I think it's bloody marvellous.

Beasties i didn't mind too much, but armada wise he just sounded way too smug. Which isn't how megatron should be.

Yeah but on beasties, it suited the character, which wasn't supposed to be the evil terrifying leader of the baddies, it was a smug, arrogant general who had high ambitions.

He was a lot better than the guy who voiced Megs on Robot's In Disguise: He sounded like an idiot in places.

I was really surprised when I found out that Cullen or even Gary Chalk didn't voice Animated Ironhide, who sounds just like Cullen's G1 Ironhide and Chalk's Turbo from the classic(and first) CGI cartoon ReBoot. Jeff Bennet is just amazing. As for why Cullen has only done G1 and the LAM, I remember reading somewhere that he was too busy voicing Eeyore, among other characters, for Disney to do any Transformers work.
