If you want to deal with Ryan, feel free to do so, I'm sure he'll welcome the extra business.
Just send him an e-mail expressing your interest, and if need be tell him Michael Heard recommended him to you.

Say, am I the only one tempted to type Henkai every time?

Just got my replay from Ryan. He's taking orders on Skywarp and Thundercracker now for $45 each. He has mentioned that Thundercracker may be limited to 2000 pieces so if you're interested then get your name on the list fast.

200!? f**king hell, and just when I was thinking of asking for a second Thundercracker too.
Oh, and don't worry about the late replies. It usually takes about a day or two to get one.

Ok, just sent off an email.
Nemster, how much would you expect the shipping charges on these guys to be, since you seem to be the man in the know when it comes to ordering stuff from Japan? I can afford the figures themselves, but it'll depend on how much extra I have to fork out for shipping costs...

For one Henkei seeker from Japan to the UK, I'd estimate it being roughly £5 for SAL shipping and £10 for EMS shipping.
But obviously if you want both seekers, it shouldn't be that much more.

Sorry, that's a typo. He told me 2000. I reallt should check my posts better before I hit the post btton.
Edit: Just seen this story a TFormers confirming that he wil in fact be limited to 9999 pieces so there shouldn't be too many problems.

Alreday finalized the preorder, all that is remaining is paying the initial 30+% (or in my case, the full $45).
Ryan told me shipping to The Netherlands would probably be about $28 for EMS, so that would be £14 or €18.

I kinda suspected this to be true, but now we have confirmation of the fact.

has posted a special message and assured its customers that they'll be
guaranteed their Thundercracker purchase as long as they pre-order
before June 20. Toy Hobby Market also has no limit on Skywarp preorders. Lets all use this information to try and stop the high markup prices on these! |

It's a great idea of TakTom's to release at least Thundercracker. By doing this not only are they a) helping fans to get an "essential" Classics figure without paying a daft price but they're also b) cashing in themselves as I can see demand for this figure to be pretty high. Everybody wins! Well, everybody except Hasbro, but I don't care about them.

Wouldn't Fun Publications be the real losers here and not Hasbro? They never had any intention of doing Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust when the range served its purpose before the movie hit.

Demand is only high because Thundercracker was an expensive exclusive and hence we got repeated discussions/complaints about the lack of a mass market version. And I reckon the ostensible high demand won't last long. It's a cheap repaint of an at best average toy, and I'm always sceptical when I hear the words "in demand". Sure, a vocal section of the message boards may want them, but not many others do.

Damn, I might have a problem here - I'm not currently a Paypal user, so Ryan tells me this will probably present a problem with my order, as he only accepts Paypal as payment. Better get this situation sorted sharpish... I really don't want to have to cancel my order.

It shouldn't be that difficult to set-up a PayPal account so long as you've got a bank account.

Or get in touch with someone on this forum - he'll send the money through PayPal, you'll send him the money through other means (e.g. bank transfer).
I paid for Thundercracker earlier today, so that's all solved.

I just bought a Henkei Starscream (I'm a massive screamer fan so I don't mind spending £16 for a slight variation on a figure I already have) but I would be interested in a Thundercracker and possible Skywarp combo, since my Skywarp was bought loose and he lacks his original missiles (I'm using a set of different missiles that fit the launchers and don't look too weird) getting a Henkei version wouldn't be entirely reduntant since at least I'd be gaining the proper weapons. I've seen a few on eBay on preorder but I'm not in any hurry, and it's only a possible. I don't NEED the pair of them, but it would be nice.
