Turns out Thundercracker wasn't such a pipe dream after all.

Given that it's an exclusive (read: pricey, limited, and even pricier once the dealers add on their markups), best not to get too excited just yet.

That's why it pays to have contacts in Japan for these things.  It avoids the agony of having to rely on scalping dealers.

If I could pick up a Classic/Henkai TC for about £15, I'd jump on it ... any more than that and I'll just settle with my Screamer to Cracker custom.

Can't help but think Henkai TC would look out of place on display with my Classics Screamer and Skywarp because of that vile chrome.

Do you think Ryan would be able to get his hands on some?

I can't say for certain yet as I'm still waiting for a reply to see if I can order all three of 'em with the upcoming Kotobukiya Kurugaya Yuiko figure I want.  But I would assume the chances of obtaining Skywarp and Thundercracker are very high as I heard there's no set ordering limit.

Well I got my reply from Ryan, and here's what he had to say.

Ryan wrote:
For the upcoming Henkei exclusives, at this time, it seems I would be able to take orders for the Henkei Skywarp and Thundercracker, but not for the Toy show exclusive Henkei Clear Convoy, that is an event exclusive and will be subject to the availability during the event. But if I am able to obtain extra, you would be the first to get them.

While the price is yet to be confirm, the estimated pricing for the 2 exclusive would be as follows,

1. Departmental store exclusive Henkei Thundercracker US$45
2. Toy Hobby Market exclusive Henkei Skywarp US$45

You say that, but it doesn't stop you from bleating that they are always out of your price range.

I think they all look great but as I already have Convoy and Skywarp I'll just be getting Thundercracker. Methinks it's time to e-mail Ryan.

The guy behind Fan To Fan.

For $45 + shipping, I'm sooooo going to try to get a TC. But as Proto, I'll settle with the Hasbro Screamer and Skywarp.

I've compared Henkei and Classics Skywarp now and, as expected, the Henkei version is much better. The way the colours are used aren't that different. It's the fact that TakTom have used a lilac much closer to the original G1 Skywarp that makes it more appealing. TakTom are doing Ramjet so maybe Thrust and Dirge will follow. I would think it's unlikely, but I can hope.

If we do get them, I'm expecting they'll be exclusives at one of the big hobby conventions in Japan.

Still, another $45 for a figure I more or less already have.

So far I've bought only one Henkei figure, Grimlock, but that's because I really like the overall character (although I must admit, Furman is taking it too far at times).

As for Thrust and Dirge, everybody thought a TC would be out of the question as well. And look what we'll be getting now. Nemmy's probably right though, they'll be exlusives as well. Just not as exclusive as the BotCon figures.
