Ryan has put up details on his website about the next batch of Henkei toys, and quite surprising they'll be USA Editions in the same manner as Masterpiece Starscream.

But coloured in more G1-ish colours. Part of me actually prefers Hasbro's version of Powerglide but Onslaught is just fantastic in his new G1 colours. Anyone know a genuine reason why Hasbro don't do this?

It might have something to do with Hasbro primarily focusing on pleasing the kiddie factor, whereas Takara-Tomy will give more priority to the interests of adult collectors.

Takara need to downgrade their pricing though. As long as they are over $10 more expensive each, and that is Ryan compared to stores like BBTS, I'm still inclined to get the Hasbro versions.

Their pricing and what we pay for Hasbro's stuff in the UK isn't that much different.  That's why I'll always stick with the Japanese versions whenever possible.

Plus dealing with Ryan has its own benefits.  You're less likely to get screwed over by some outrageous markup, and not to mention those f**kers at customs have yet to sting me on his parcels because he undervalues it.

Does Ryan own a shop or anything like that or is it just one guy with a website who gets the figures wholesale?

A Silverbolt figure?  Nice one - my interest is suitably piqued...

I would think it's the latter, as he often says to me that he'll hunt around local stores for items he can't get from his usual sources.

*nods* Makes sense - that's what he's doing for my Genesic GaoGaiGar reissue as I missed the pre-order deadline.

Just has a look at his site, and that Astrotrain does look pretty good.
So Powerglide, Silverbolt, etc are $US40 apiece, which is, what, £20-25 at the moment?  Not too bad, actually, provided the shipping doesn't work out at the same...

The shipping wouldn't be that high.  My last parcel from him which had 18 items worth about $800+ in total cost me roughly $200 to be shipped by EMS.

How are your experiences with customs and Ryan's packages?

Let's put it this way, customs haven't stung me for any of his parcels in the two and a half years I've dealt with him.

Just the thing I wanted to hear

I might still change orders for the Voyagers then.
