Which toys relased under the banner of the movie toyline, whether redecoes of old toys or brand new ones, yet don't represent characters that appear in the actual film or can't be reconciled with it(or any of its assorted media) seem to be the most pointless? Personally, I think that Incinerator, Nightwatch Optimus Prime(he looks like Robots in Disguise Scourge as a Peterbilt 379 more than anything else, though Movie Ultra Magnus isn't too far-fetched), Desert Attack Brawl, Elita One, and Jungle Bonecrusher don't really serve any purpose other than to sell more toys, which in the case of Elita and Bonecrusher hasn't worked. What about you guys?

Yeah, but at least Cliffjumper and Landmine make sense. It is entirely reasonable for another Camaro Concept to be floating around, either being tested by GM engineers or as part of a car show. Landmine is obvious.

 Hated the Cyber Stompers. I liked the some of the non-movie characters, just not the repaints. A new toy is a new toy afterall!

Any of the Cybertron / Energon repaints are pointless and have been created for nothing else but selling toys people already have.

I disagree, there are some very nice deluxes out there. Dropkick, Landmine, Longarm, Payload, Stockade and Wreckage are all quite decent indeed.

In fact, Longarm actually does make it into the movie - although not as a TF. That scene did inspire the Longarm + damaged Bumblebee 2-pack. Stockade also appears as a non-TF in the form of the S-7 SUVs.

Repaints were and are brutal.  If I have one kind of transformer in certain colours, I am not going to get the same thing only with different colours!

- seekers
- Jazz, Prowl and Bluestreak
- Hoist and Trailbreaker
- Rumble and Frenzy
- Laserbreak and Buzzsaw
- Sideswipe and Red Alert

etc

The thing is, with G1 (and to a lesser degree Classics - Cliffjumper was horrible) you accept it because they are proper characters.
