TV-Nihon, the fansub group that brought you Galaxy Force (among others) are now subbing Car Robots. I won't post any links to their site, as that would probably get me a bollocking from the powers that be.
But hopefully my pointing this little titbit of information out won't.

Car Robots subbed! Now there's a dream come true! Seriously though, I downloaded a subbed ep some years ago on a dial-up connection and absolutely loved it. I've been looking for a subbed verson for years and now that TV Nihon are doing it that's just awesome beyond words.

I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing Gelshark's dialogue. Skybyte's dialogue was great but I just didn't like the voice actor doing it.
I really do like this series. It doesn't have any of the epic scale that Galaxy Force doe but it's just a good action-packed series with good animation and some good animé-style humour. Just a shame Black Convoy and God Fire Convoy's apperances are still so far off...

This thought I've had about Car Robots has been on my mind for awhile now. But it is very similar to the formula used in the Brave series, you know the stuff about burning hearts of justice and what have you.
Hell, Fire Convoy even utters King Exkaiser's "Kyodai Gattai" phrase for his Super Mode.

Maybe that's why they did it, to cross-breed two of their best franchises. I'd like to see some japanese Beast Wars to see if that bears any similarity to the Brave series.

If you've already seen RiD, it will feel like you're watching the same show twice sometimes. I get that a lot when watching Power Rangers, and then seeing its Super Sentai counterpart.

Car Robots as a whole does make more sense though. It was created in a style often used in Japan but not in western animation. I've seen the series non-subbed in low-res and there are so many moments I'm looking foward to seeing in this version.

Episode 4 has been done, and keep watching at the end as they even subbed some of the toy commercials.
