Top of my list of wants would be a reduction in the amount of lazy ass repaints.

I doubt we'd see a Beetle bumbles now. Probably end up with a Camaro.

I recall that VW wouldn't let HasTak use the Beetle mold anyway due to some twaddle like Transformers hold guns and they don't want to be accociated with such evil creatures.

I never quite got why Hasbro didn't rework the VW Bumblebee sketchs we saw in the BT book into a Ford Ka. If VW wanted to play silly buggers, a Ka would have been a decent alternative.

For the Autobots, I'd like to see Ratchet and Ironhide, sharing the same mold but with subtle differences between them, a la Swindle and Hound.
Trailbreaker would be another cool addition, maybe as some sort of off-road SUV?  Streetwise could be worked in as another police car, of a different mode to Prowl.  Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are unlikely to even be considered, seeing as they had recent Classics and Movie toys, but they'd be cool additions all the same.

And for the Decepticons - if a suitable mold can be found for Motormaster, then he and the other Stunticons would be perfect choices.  And Runabout and Runamuck would probably go to the top of my 'must-get' list.

Maybe make some into classic muscle cars like the 69 GTO or 64 Corvette Stingray or Dodge Challenger or early 80's Porsche, or Enzo Ferrari.  Stuff like that but with names of Transformers.

The information given is misleading.  It's not because "Transformers have guns."  It's because the movie would be involving the military and VW has a policy about their products not being used in military themed  movies.   And what are Transformers if not military?  It's just an overall policy and is not directly aimed at Transformer toys.

It was before the movie. I heard that, long before the movie, HasTak approached VW to ask if they could make a Alternator Bumblebee with the new Beetle mold. As a result they knew not to approach them again for the movie and so went with Chevrolet.

There hasn't been an Alternator/Binaltech Drag Strip.

I'd prefer to see a race-car type of mold for Drag Strip, similar to his G1 alt mode, or perhaps even a rally car.  I know these types of cars haven't really appeared in the Alt/BT line thus far, but it would be nice to see a couple of inclusions for selected characters.  Anyone know why Mirage wasn't made as a racing car?

Formula cars don't make for good disguises on public roads, that'd be my excuse if I was them.

I dunno. I think that might make them MORE likely to get toys, well, Bumblebee at least. He's now a well-known popular character to the new generation of fans as well as the older ones. His appearance in Animated will help too.
