I expect Furman thought he'd be able to explain things like the fete of Jimmy and Verity and other dangling plots at his leisure. That's why there are so many balls in the air so to speak.
But IDW went and hired Shane McCarthy to provide a 'new direction' and suddenly Simon's story is a side attraction. I doubt IDW would admit that but it's how it seems to me. I think Mr F's doing sterling work adapting his Revelation script to the constraints of the Spotlights format, and I'd support him to the ends of the Earth - the man is a legend. I'm sure we'd never hear him complain about being taken off the main book, but he's obviously having to rethink his plans for upcoming stories.
So I'd expect Revelation to explain the dead universe stuff and give it some sort of resolution, perhaps with a revisit in a future spotlight or mini. All the Earth stuff will get sorted by Maximum Dinos presumably, and we know there are something like four other comics after that to bridge the gap between Revelation and All Hail.
Sadly I'm not going to be at AA (alchie's anonymous? ) but you can put a face to this faceless capitalist by going here

I agree with a lot of what you said. I was a bit disappointed with Devastation, it just sort of fizzled out and too much was crammed into the back end of the run, which meant we lost out on the rescue of Ironhide (all that build up for nothing!).
It has felt to me that Simon is being constrained by editorial, as everything seems a bit rushed... like he's cramming in as much as possible to ensure no story threads that he wanted to tell are left untold.
I have very much enjoyed all the Spotlight stories, and love the reinterpretation of many of the characters. Particularly Arcee. Although I was disappointed that her outwardly female styling was just the result of Jihaxus titting about in his lab.
I don't see what the big wup about Shane Meadows is so far. I liked the first issue of AHM, which harks back to the ill-fated Dreamwave style TF stories. I'm not one for dabbling overmuch on the internet to find out abou comics, so was suprised this seems to be set in a divergent continuity.
