Of course it's the first two strips of the UK comic - it's reprinting the stories for the American audience - that's the whole point.

I got it because its a way of collecting the stories in a much more compact format. The Titan comics strike me as being aimed at a child audience first and foremost, hence the free gift with every issue and the size of the panels (which should be smaller and more of them).

On the other hand Simon Furman's stories are still adult enough to be appreciated across the age spectrum, which is why the Saga of the All Spark reprints are ideal. It's cuts out all the superfluous stuff like the free gifts and back-up strips (which I have anyway) and just gives you the main strips, which are the most important thing anyway.

I just bought the titan digest sized version, which collects the first five or so issues in a small enough format so the artwork doesn't look as rubbish. And at a fiver, It's a lot cheaper than getting the individual idw reprints. Oh, and the godawful cover b i got on saga #1 has just completely turned off any potential 'buying it for the sake of buying it' urges i may have had.

In agreement about the covers. Pretty dire.

The digest sounds like a good idea but I haven't seen that advertised anywhere.

I mailed copies of TFUK #14 to guys in the states today and man the postage is expensive. It's £2.94 which is the equivalent of about $6 plus the cost of the comic on top. All in all about $11 a comic which is pretty steep. The free gift boosts the postage and is a constant source of annoyance, so the digests may be a good way for oversees fans to save money too.

Transformers Adventures Vol 1 - Out Now (#1-6)
Transformers Adventures Vol 2 - 22nd Aug (#7-??)

Both are £4.99 so well worth buying if you haven't picked up the magazine of IDW's version.

You should just do what uk magazine distributors do, and just send the magazines sans free gift overseas. It's not like They're worth forking out extra postage for (and some of the gun-like gifts could raise customs issues?)

I'm giving it a miss. If there's any exclusive new stuff in this issue, let me know.
