Hey, I wasn't too sure where to put this and I'm also not sure if all you guys know about this or not but I found a Wikipedia entirely based on Transformers.

http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

I'm not exactly sure how to make it a link so you guys are going to have to copy and paste it. Sorry.

I love it. Amongst all the info is an underlining wit (Just check out the Pat Lee section!) it also helped me out a few times when I helped a guy out with some continuity in a fan project.

It really is an exhaustive piece of work, even covering such crucial characters as The Murdered Puppy.
Also showing the kind of humour the contributors have, this is considered to be a featured article i.e., one of the best on the wiki.

Read the Pat Lee stuff. I'm kind of relieved to find out that I'm not alone in thinking his work was awful. Never understood why people found it so amazing. And its lumbered us with every artist to touch TFs since doing Prime with  sticking out windows! Gaah!

Horrible over inflated nonsense.

I live in hope that one day a website will be set up (like the ones I've seen for the atrocious Rob Liefeld) so we can all have a good laugh at his terrible chimp scribblings.

Whats worse is I've contributed to this guy's wealth 'cos I wanted to read the (then) new TF comic and support it. I wouldn't have bothered if I'd known he was stiffing his own employees!

Sigh.

Pat Lee's art didn't really bother me until I saw it retrospectively. The Fallen concept on that Teletraan page is a good example of the flaws in his work. Optimus Prime's chest windows sticking out didn't bother me so much as the size of them did - they just seemed so small. A slight shame the Revoltech Convoy is based on his art.

It probably had to be that way because of the Magnus repaint...

What, as in the only existing art of the white Ultra Magnus was done by Pat Lee and for simplicity's sake they used his Convoy art too? (This is a pure guess by the way)

Something like that, and not forgetting some overly anal fans would have thrown a fit if it used a different design.

interestingly enough because revoltech convoy is based on that art style i refuse to buy him because his chest looks crap.

I'd say the arm joints are far worse than the art styling used for the guy.  But that's just in this Revoltech collectors opinion.

Everyone thought it was amazing at the time. It was only after IDW took over everyone started hating DW.

That was probably because it was amazingly detailed. I remember seeing the first Dreamwave images and being completely blown away. There wasn't much else to compare it to with regard to modern comics. Then IDW took over and their style seemed to "fit" much more.

I never had a problem with the TF art (Disproportinate though it may be) but I DID have a problem with the way the humans were drawn (Like someone sucked the soul from every one of them).

I agree with you there Time Lord!! The Transformers I always thought looked pretty good but the people were just terrible to look at.
