Heard a few rumours based around gamesday that black library may/may not push ahead with a movie from 40k universe, dawn of war 2 intro graphics quality (if only). Anyone here heard anything???

They've had at least 3 plans to release a 40k movie which have been cancelled. Judging by the time it took them to release WHO (7+ years), not to mention Final Liberation and Rites of War, I wouldn't hold your breath.

i certainly havent heard anything concerning a movie though more than a few people want one.
A german amateur film was done and completed completely funded by the actors and producers themselves supposedly it was very good but GW wouldnt allow them to release it.
THey have the skills and technology to certainly make a movie however and it may shock you to know this is that it wouldnt be cost effective as there simply isnt enough 40k fans out there to have it make money

Straight to dvd release, i know cgi is all the cutscenes in games cost a fair wack but us gw fans and theres enough of us (apart from where i live lol) worldwide its daft. For me a dvd with a few shortstorys would suffice. My first choice would be a dwarf throng putting the torch to the woodelfs home (hehehe), nah seriously some of the storys soooo need to be put on celluloid.
P.s why oh why wouldnt gamesworkshop just sell the rights to the german actors, oops forgot big buisness hhmm

I used to be into warhammer 1991 to 1996 when I was a kid I went to games day 95 and they made a film of Genestealers VS Terminators. It looked OK but really it is just a Alien rip off so I think they should leave it alone.

Yeah it really looks similar, do you remember Dark future the car racing game that was a total rip off of Mad max. But saying that I have a lot of respect for Games Workshop, for a UK company to go global is amazing, and as a kid I loved collecting 40k Orks Choas and Harlequins.

Not to mention when i spoke to a GW empoyee about shadowblade and Eltharions storyline, shock horror theyve reinvented Eltharion completely (wheres my uber cool blind kickass swordmaster) his reply eerrrmmm dont know, lol theres continuity for yah.
As for innuendos etc just looking at the witch elves clothing or lack of, i darent touch any in the store, seeing as every little teenybopper had there claws on them... i shudder. However i may mention Gw should sell fancy dress gear, id soooo by my missus a witch elf outfit yum yum hehehehehe

lol just tell our women not to get to much into character, unless were all into being flayed, whipped, disembolwed etc etc. Anyway back on track , if were not getting a movie the i dearly hope we get a drizzt movie (forgotten realms for the uninitiated) would be ace, massive popularity, and loads of books to go off.
With our current selection of fantasy films boring us to tears (roll on the hobbit) i.e golden compass ( ) we need decent fantasy films. Wonder who would play cattebrie

I don't think either of the warhammer/40k worlds has main stream movie appeal. There's noone to like and get behind. Humanity is too evil for it to work.

cattie-brie - please not liv tyler lol, flame haired temptress thats what we need. Wulfgar on the other hand needs to be played by a guy with charisma and physical presence lol a young russell crowe on stilts. Ahhh more interestingly who would portray drizzt and artemis entreri (think thats spelt right lol).
