I've seen it twice and the totty I saw it with Yesterday night described the movie as a 'Action CGI Romcom wankfest'.
She's probably right.

The comedy is dreadful! I'm all for immaturity if it makes me laugh, but cliched cock jokes are lower than the bottom of the barrel. You can take the material very seriously but still have great comedy, but none of the comedy in the films seem to be in context.
It's like 'hey regular audiences! Aren't these robots dumb? To show you we're down with the kids lets mention penis for some laughs'.

I found the twins particularly annoying. And Sam's mother. And Simmons And Wheelie
Only thing that genuinely got a chuckle from me was Jetfire.

I think apart from the humping of the leg Wheelie wasn't so bad. At least he has some expression unlike alot of them.

Yeah, with some Manhattan accent thrown in for good measure.

You've never obviously seen your mother stoned. It really is hilarious.

I don't understand the Mother character... how does she get dressed in the morning without hurting herself?

Most of the comedy present in both the movies can probably be attributed to Spielberg being on board. He makes movies that are largely suitable for most people, including kids, to watch, so I suspect that he had considerable influence over the movies' comedy factor.
That said, though, the whole scene with Sam's mother going daft at the college was bordering on being painful to watch... A bit too much humping going on - then again, Wheelie does have some taste in Earthlings, eh? Not too convinced about Jetfire's Englishness either.
