My Superlink Laserwave doesn't have that problem

yes. energon was mostly rubbish. the decepticon figures were largely good, with only the odd clunker like Shockblast. the autobots were by and large, awful podgy things reminiscent of the Play Skool Go-Bots. the gestalts were okay. i wouldn't say they were that great myself.

HOW DARE YOU!! all of Shockblast's flaws can be over looked merely because he is a homage to Shockwave(who is one of the best TF characters ever).
But the majority of Energon was complete and utter rubbish, I only own Starscream and a few minicons.

Just because its a homage, that does not excuse it being a disappointing toy. Massive feet, a stupid cannon arm to house the electronics and battery case (AAs, at that - why not button cells and a neater mechanism???) that puts a great degree of strain on the figure's waist. The alt modes of a satelite and a weird tank thing are also poo. if they were going to homage shockwave, they should have gone the whole hog and made him a laser gun. that might actually have worked.

Energon grimlock and swoop are also awful, and they are direct homages. and have an ugly combined mode too.

Starscream that you own, is a good figure. i preferred the original energon colours rather than the fanboy indulgence of the G1 recolour.

Galvatron was a much better homage figure.  He looked more like his G1 self, and his cannon had a nice likeness to Armada Megatron.

Mine damn well does.  The missile just refuses to stay loaded most of time as it likes to shoot out on its own!

Grimlock and swoop are really bad and as homages go your right thats not an excuse!! But there are a few gems, starscream being one (energon colours though!!) slugslinger, landmine, demolisher, yeah mainly the cons!!!
