That's bad, very bad indeed. I thought they were meant to have fixed its stability problems.

Well the thighs are die-cast now rather than plastic so it does stand up alright, but it's the simple fact that GadgetGao doesnt do the balance any favor sitting on the back all the time. Anyway, some pictures. One of the figure as a whole, one of just the head. I apologise for the blurry headshot and watermarks abut a) I dont have anything great in the way of cameras and b) I had to download a demo program to resize the pictures:

Note the tip in the Driver arm. I'm not taking individual pictures of the tips as there isn't much difference between them.

And there's the head. As I said, I don't have the original version of the figure so I don't know how much better this is. A picture with the Hell & Heaven hands will follow but in the process of attaching them the thing fell apart so any times that I lost patience. Seriously, in my experience this thing's worse than Masterpiece Megatron. It looks fantastic and I'm glad I've got it, but once I have it in Hell & Heaven pose I doubt I'll return it to the Protect Shade/Blting Driver combo I had yesterday.

VITAS!!!!
Not sure why this photo has turned out worse than the others - same settings and everything. In the course of ataching the various parts for these photos I've made some more observations on the figure as whole. The build quality is very good. GadgetGao is a little flimsy, bu tthat's in its nature as it has a lot of thin panels that need to move about. However, GadgetGao is also the spurce of Genesic's main fault - he's a bit back-heavy. The legs have been stengthened based upon what I've read but if you were to make the joints strong enough to hold all that weight you'd never be able to move them with your bare hands. Also, the build quality of the combinbed form isn't great. It fell apart s many times whilst I was swapping pieces Mind you, maybe I'm missing something.

It has always been a fiddly fragile toy, but the Ver.2 in your pictures appears to be sturdier than my Ver.1, nicer head too.
The legs look better now they can be pulled outward so StraightGao and SpiralGao aren't forcing GGGG into a 'doing the splits' pose by default, and Galeon's mane doesn't seem to have that 'going to fall off any second' feel to 'em.
I can't really tell if ProtectGao and BrokenGao are better or not, as their point of connection isn't visible enough. The same applies to GadgetGao too.
Moving on, amiami have got new shots of Fraulein Haruhi and CM's newest non-transformable Brave figures, King Exkaiser and BaanGaan.

Apparently the connection of ProtectGao and BrokenGao has been improved. Don't know what it's like on the original but with this version the figure comes with a white block that fits inside GaiGar's chest once you've put his arms on his back. The block then has a connector socket in each end that you attach ProtectGao and BrokenGao to. Problem with this is that it's nigh-on impossible to rotate the arm at the shoulder as either the arm comes off or the GadgetGao claw attached to it comes off, sometimes taking the rest of GadgetGao with it, sometimes not. Bear in mind that the poses you see there have SpiralGao and StarightGao as close as possible to each other so it's nearly a splits scenario. Also, Galleon's mane parts do attach quite well, but there's no "click" to say that they're attached and they do fall off from time to time in transformation. I must say here that whilst Genesic is by far possibly the most dymanic-looking of all the figures I own, in terms of Masterpiece-like figures, Great Exkaiser does just beat it. It looks much more simple but it feels like a much more solid figure that doesnt take an age to shift between modes.

You know, after reading that, it almost sounds like a lot of the Ver.1 issues were carried over to the Ver.2 by CM's after all. That block piece for ProtectGao and BrokenGao is easily my most hated thing about GGGG, it took me bloody ages to attach the arms without having one of their foldaway fins flying off, or GadgetGao doing the same things as yours.
And as much as I adore my GGGG, I think GaoFighGar outshines it in some aspects. Although I'm tempted to say GaoGaiGo is my favourite design wise of the four.

Yoko must be the new 'it' thing with the figure makers, as Wave are doing two versions of her in that Space outfit. One of which is show accurate, and the other... a tad more revealing.

She does appear to be the new Rei. This stuff has never sat well with me, even the figures where the women are pefectly decently dressed. It's all just a little too creepy for my liking.

New Saber is more like it, you should see the amount of figures she's had since her debut in 2004. And most figures aren't that creepy; you should reserve such comments for those of the ero variety.

Oh I'm well aware of how far this stuff goes, but still find it all creepy.

Damn my collective nature, after seeing these scans of Fraulein Haruhi and the magazine add-ons. I know for a fact I'll be wanting it!
And then there's Max Factory, who have announced figma Tohsaka Rin will be released in August. If you've played the recently translated Unlimited Blade Works route of Fate/stay night, you'll know why I like this character.

Generally you can get them from stores like HLJ, but I was thinking of buying them via Ryan (Fan2Fan) so I can avoid customs. So you might want to consider doing the same.

Hmm... that doesn't reflect well on me you know. Soon you'll be thinking I'm creepy with my ever growing figure collection...

Now that they've been released, here are some galleries for Revoltech Lazengann, YF-19 and YF-21.
And for those who need MOAR Gurren Lagann! There will be a series of Music Videos for the next few weeks to tide us over until the upcoming movie release.

Finally got around to finishing Gurren Lagann (Watched episodes 15-27 in 2 nights) and I am mighty impressed. It's easily one of my favourite animes, if not my favourite and so now the Revoltech Gurren Lagann and Lazengann look especially appealing. I must say that it got a little too epic in scale at the end for my liking. But the animation was fantastic and the characters are all brilliant (Obviously Kamina is no. 1). The Brave-style animes (Nothing is impossible as long as your soul burns! Yours is the drill that pierces the heavens!, etc, etc) all really appeal to me and so this was right up my alley. As soon as ADV get off their asses and officialy release the DVDs in the UK I'm grabbing the lot.

Solid Theater must have heard my comments about that freaky face on their Saber Alter, as they've done a much better job on the exclusive version that'll be sold at the WonderFest event in August.
Although now I'm kinda pissed because it will be a right pain for me to get.

Probably, but I haven't seen any official information to confirm it yet.

Amiami have now put up a listing for Alter's Yagami Hayate, and I like the fact they've included a little Reinforce Zwei figure with her.
And I think I better start paying more attention to Konami's Busou Shinki range, as they're continuing the combining armours gimmick with these upcoming Wesperior and Grafijos figures.

That Tokyo Toy Show overloaded my brain. There are way too many toys I want coming out it's insane! Just scope out this gallery link to see what I mean, and please note there are some minor NSFW images on that page.
Also, I found listings for Revoltech Gurren Lagann Fulldrillized and ARX-8 Laevatein on amiami today.
And finally, the translation phase of the (Fate/stay night) Heaven's Feel route is now done. So I'm kinda happy about that too.

Hobby Stock have uploaded a TON of photos from the Tokyo Toy Show on their blog site, all of which can be seen here, here, here and here.
Plus Akibahobby have some nice on display photos of the previously mentioned Revoltech Gurren Lagann and ARX-8.
