Even though I like Transformers toys a lot, I know that there are other companies about who have made some truly fantastic toys, like these two I bought in the last couple of days.

The first one being CM's Genesic GaoGaiGar from the King of Braves GaoGaiGar FINAL OVA series, and the second one being Bandai's Assault Type version of Aquarion from the Sousei no Aquarion series.

These toys are like Masterpiece Transformers in a way, the designs are close to that of their animated counterparts, and the level of detail on them is outstanding.  Hell, they've impressed me so much that I might consider buying a few more robot toys like this later on, like Toynami's Masterpiece Voltron for example.

[EDIT 1] - I've renamed this thread so it can focus on all types of mecha toys, not just the transforming ones.

[EDIT 2] - I've renamed it again for my now obvious non-mecha interests, just because I can.

[EDIT 3] - I decided to make a few subtle wording changes to my first post.

[EDIT 4] - I amended the title to include anime, and because hardly anyone refers to yours truly as 'NS' these days.

No, I'd rather blame you instead for showing me that black version of Aquarion.

Anyway as asked here's some pics of their alt modes starting with Genesic GaoGaiGar.

Genesic Galeon and it's robot mode Genesic GaiGar

Protect and Broken Gao

Straight and Spiral Gao

Gadget Gao

All 3 versions of Aquarion and the 3 plane type machines used to make him up.

I don't think so, as I had to get mine from an eBay seller in Japan.

Yeah, I've only seen them being sold in Japan. They're pretty expensive, about $100 or around $200 for all three, since they're all die cast.

Yeah I prefer the originals alot more. I think the dark ones come with archery mind, its part of the green Aquarion's transformation...Green one = Luna I think. He's my fave.

Both!!

Genesic GaoGaiGar is about 9 to 10 inches tall, with Aquarion being around the same height depending on which mode he's in.

Here's some pics of 2 other transforming robots I've got my eye on at the moment, the first is Masterpiece Voltron and second one is Bandai's Dancouga.

Voltron looks nice, but Dancouga looks a bit too generic for me.  bit like Victory Leo actually!

Now that you meation it, he does look kinda like Victory Leo but he's still cool though.

Also I found a magazine scan of the upcoming CM GaoFighGar toy, I wish I knew when this one was being released so I could pre-order it as it looks amazing.
