I doubt it, to be honest.

I'm as reluctant to get an X-Box 360 as the next man- but with most 3rd party games appearing on every format, what am I going to gain from having a £400-at-least PS3 over a hopefully-discounted-soon X-Box 360?

Take the GTA series. It's coming out on XB360 and PS3 at the same time. That means there'll be no use of the massive Blu-Ray storage capacity. I'm not certain what there is for me to gain by buying a PS3 over and above an X-Box 360...

It's an awful time to release. The Christmas money's all gone, the X-Box 360 will probably be old enough to start discounting older games and the console, and the Wii will have a clear run at Christmas.

Wii are the champions! Excellent. I hope now Kojima has the sense to find a way of getting MGS4 on the 360, maybe a filterred down version on the Wii. That would be aces!

Can't wait to see what he's working on. I'd love a whole new series with the same depth and innovation as Metal Gear Solid, as well as a new MGS game set between 2 and 4.

MGS always found clever ways of using the controller and system as a whole, like putting it up to your arm to feel the nanoprobes, or using one of the analogue sticks to swing Raiden's sword. If anyone can find a use for the controller in the epic game the Wii sorely needs, it's Kojima.

Well, he is designing the level for Solid Snake in SMB Brawl so expect good things. Also, he says he has plans for the Wii and the PS3 contoller and the PSP GPS device is being used with Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

MGS4 will only be on PS3 due to it being specifically made of the console and after the poor support of MGS2 Substance on Xbox, he doesn't want to port it.

It won't flop, it just won't have it's majority that the Playstaion 2 created.

Also, there is no MGS game between 2 and 4. MGS:PO is set between MGS3 and MG.

hmm interesting I hope its better than there last couple of consoles as i was not impressed by the Game Cube or N64

I used to be reluctant about it, but it's a great machine.

I'm not a fan of companies, just machines that make gaming as much fun as possible.

I used to play arcade games like Pac-Man, and beating or setting the high score for anyone to beat had you playing in a way you don't when the high score is saved to a memeory card no one will ever see.
The competition is back and that makes undesirable games desirable and fun again.

And for both the live arcade games and regular games, the achievement system has me playing the same game in different ways, which really stretches the longevity of some titles.

And the downlaodable demos have let me playtest games like Dead Rising and Saint's Row without forking out a fiver for an offcial magazine that spends two thirds of the issue calling other consoles "clever" names like poostation, gaycube or X-Flop or rubbishing games for these consoles that they'll praise 12 months from now when the contract exclusivity ends.

It may be Mircrosoft, but they're pulling a Nintendo and actually doing their best to make gaming as exciting as it used to be.
And they're doing a pretty good job.

Also, Dead rising.
