I really don't see a reason for hardcore PS fanboys to be bothered by Halo 4 news. Everyone who wants it already owns a 360. It'll probably be released next year for Xmas. Who knows, what could be revealed the Peter Jackson Halo game/s. Graphically it more than likely will be average and will stick to the Halo formula, unless it uses the Xmote.
The reason most people are citing it as a 'flogging a dead horse' is because the Master Chief story arc ended. Most sequels continue a story (even Tekken does this - although who cares about the Story?), like Metal Gear Solid - (Now MGS5 - that's a cash in).

I don't think it would be. Nothing wrong with continuing the story from a different characters point of view if it enhances the gaming experience.
Final Fantasy's games don't follow the same story, each one's a different game in it's own right, it's not quite the same i know, but by the logic that it's a dead horse because the stroy arc is over, then tehnically Final Fantasy has been dead since the end of the first title!

True. Final Fantasy has always been like that though. I know thats not acceptable and is a dodgy example. The video games industry does have its exceptions.
Halo though, each game has been worse. Microsoft really need Halo. It has nothing really next year that is a definite certified 100% software multimillion mover. It just feels like they've dug it up in the hope of keeping the Xbox 360 brand alive while they finish of the plans for the next console.
If it keeps the Xbox fans happy, which it will, thats dandy. I just think it goes to show that Microsoft still haven't achieved as many powerful franchises as they'd like. They are still doing alright though.
It'll definitely add some spice to their E3 though. Sony have the potential to put on a stunning show.

No, but Microsofts strength isn't in their franchises, at least i don't think so. Most of the games I play are multi-format ones to be fair but the way that the online service is set up on the 360 is far better.
This said, there aren't any exclusive games apart from Metal Gear, that i'm interested in for PS3 either, thereare still more for 360 that I want to play.
The only console though, that really has exclusives that I want is the Wii.

Nintendo have kept their cards to their chest this year. Could surprise us all.

Thats pretty interesting. Sonic Unleashed is the only Sonic title that has me interested since the Megadrive. If they keep that 'roll' going on it could make for a good Wii game.
Sadly I probably won't buy unleashed, it'll be a renter at most.

I don't understand how people say that each subsequent Halo game gets worse. Combat Evolved is basically just running through the same looking corridor/room over and over again. Which gets very repetitive 'specially if you turn the wrong corner and are not sure if you have already been through said corridor/room!

Halo 3 is the only one I've played, not having owned an Xbox before the 360, so I can't comment on that. But I do love 3.

well any sonic, mario, metroid, lemmins, megaman game are all flogging the same thing.
the cash cow
just depends on how good the next one is and how different it is, never playing a halo game but reading about them, they all sound like they play the same but with different weapons.
mgs has added in different weapons and combat styles, ie camo.

I've played all three and each one is less fun than the last in my opinion, and I'm not alone on that. Personally, I rate Gears of War better than all the Halo games, but at the same time think Gears was buggy and average.
Halo has done a lot for console shooters in general, but the series feels tired and repetative. We all thought that it was over with the completion of Master Chiefs story arc, but Microsoft need a cash cow next year, so they dig up the franchise again.
Then the year after that, They'll probably have Gears of War 3, and will rotate them.
I'm more a single player person and it takes something interesting for me to go online multiplayer (Like Metal Gear Online - I like the sneaking aspect, Resistance 2 looks promising with the 60 player online, Gears 2 has one or two interesting modes by the looks of things etc)

-Megaman X - reworking
-Megaman EXE - RPG with a new style combat system
-Megaman Network Transmission cross between an RPG & Platformer
-Megaman X Command Mission ; JRPG
-Megaman ZX -Metroid style platformer

With all the news about violent games corrupting kids etc.. how has nobody caught on that Mario is an Italian plumber that gets high on mushrooms.
I really enjoy my PSP, but none of the games coming up are interesting me. PSP2 would need to be no larger than the current PSP in size, a touch screen, HDD storage, tilt movement, and a general software improvement.
I'm really hoping for a new gen SSX game, like SSX 3 but bigger!

1080 Snowboarding on the 64/gc was my favourite, closely followed by snowboard kids on the 64.
