Microsoft have officially announced a $50 price cut for the 20gb 360. Its also going to be replaced by a 60GB model at $349.

Big let down really. Seems just like a vehicle to clear the old Xbox models. If thats their big price cut announcement (lets hope not) then its no surprise they announced it before E3.

Thats a matter of opinion!

For me:

  • God of War
  • Final Fantasy
  • Tekken
  • Uncharted
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Team ICO games (I have some sneaky info on the 2 (Yes 2!) new ones!
  • Gran Turismo
  • Etc
are better than:

  • Zelda
  • Mario (All 1,000,001 games!)
  • Smash Bro's
  • Wii Fit
  • etc

I do agree that the prices will come down before Xmas. Best to wait. E3 could have more surprises for us than we think. I've just got wind of a potential Playstation Home tidbit which if true sounds nice. Bowt bloody time Sony!

But nothing listed there fir PS3 is all that different from whats on the 360, ok different titles and presentation but essentially, theres something comparable for almost everything you listed on the 360.

The Wii has more original stuff.

True. I'm just more attracted to immersive and more adult games, instead of the games that appeal to women, 6 year olds, old people etc.

Thats not a knock to the Wii, its just my personal playing preferences, just like i'm not a massive multiplayer gamer. Yes I dabble in it in FPS and MGO, but for the large part I game alone and achieve by myself.

When buying a console, go for one that suits your gaming preferences.

P.S show me something on the Xbox like MGS! If you say Splinter Cell you'll get a spade to the back of the head.

Big let down is a bit far- but its a let down non the less.

MS could have done with cutting the price across the range in the US.
Though a 60GB model will be needed if they wanted to expand film
downloads on Xbox Live.

I wonder how this will pan out in the UK, if they cut the pro by £30ish
while its being phased out I'll grab one. The HDD size means nothing to
me.

The Europe stuff will come at the press conference. Its the region Microsoft desperately needs to get a better hold of because Sony are making advances there. We've already had a price cut, but we should get another one.

The PS3 Bioshock cover art sports a Playstation Home logo. The games due out in late October. Some are speculating that Home might be out by then.

Personally I believe it shows that Bioshock will have a games room, will support In-Home multiplayer game and Single player game launching, 3D trophies. Home is currently slated for a November Open Beta release. . .could it be posisble it could land in October?

One can but speculate.

Now THAT I'll give you.

as for bioshock, if the PS3 version has a multiplayer, I might just re-buy it.

(Do not click below link if you haven't completed Metal gear Solid 4)

Hopefully we'll get another great Sony E3 presentation!

Massive damage!

I'm pretty confident there won't anything that awful this year.

Sony appears to have got their act together. Their line-up practically speaks for itself (As well as the new announcements that are coming).

Hopefully E3 will bring some good surprises.

What I want is some good RPG updates/ announcements.

Its a sad state when the biggest RPG's this year for me are remakes of
games from the SNES era.

That's because the SNES is the best console the world has ever seen. Don't try and disagree, you'll be making yourself look silly.

Both were good peices of kit. The Megadrive was the first console I ever had. Also got the 'MegaCD' add-on for it. Batman was awesome on that.

*Runs off to get Megadrive up and running once more*

The Price cut in America for the Xbox 360 is not coming to Europe, says Microsoft.

"The 60GB Xbox 360 and the 20GB clearance sale are for the US only. We have not announced any changes in Xbox 360 offerings or pricing in Europe."

Not YET anyways.

I think I only had about 4/5 games for it, but I loved the damn thing. Out of everyone I knew, I was the only one to have one.

I had some fantastic games on there.  Shining force CD, Lunar, Dark Wizard, Vay, Sonic CD.  But nowhere near enough to justify its price.

Now now.  The PS3 doesn't have 5 great games yet. ^_^

Oh yes, Battalion Wars 2 is 12.99 in Gamestation, and harvest moon £20.  I also picked up Guilty Gear Core new for a fiver at game, and Guitar Hero 3 for £45 at tescos(not sure if the tesco deal is nationwide).  Good weekend for buying wii games.
