Seeing as I actually live in Birmingham, I've already arrived.
Who is planning on coming early? A few drinks on the Friday night might be a bit of a laugh.

Did you say you had a room spare? If I chose to humble you all with my presence it'd be much easier to travel Friday evening/Sunday morning since I hate both getting up early and having to leave mid-evening.

Yeah, I do. I also have an airbed. You're welcome to stay if you want.
No spare bedding though. I'm a man.

I'm thinking to arrive alive, i may need to get the coach up. thankfully theres a southend-birmingham direct route. That would put me up there for mid afternoon (he says) friday. So, subject to me finding proper maps and a B&B, i'd be up for a drink on the friday.

Looking like a no-go for me I'm afraid. I'm going to be doing an FA Level 1 coaching course and the practical and first aid elements fall on that entire weekend, meaning I've got no chance of making it.
I know you'll all be truly devastated!

No worries fella maybe next time.
On another note, I'm pleased that you are wanting to come to the meet Blaster but i am concerned as to how this is going to work as we haven't had someone from a different country attend one of these before. So i'm going to deligate here and seeing as spec was kind enough to help you with flight times etc, it seems only fair that he should make sure you get to this safely.
Although it is my responsability that we all meet up and everyone is accounted for I don't want to be responisbile for someone from overseas disappearing or going astray.
So as of now Spec, it is down to you to make sure that Blaster not only gets in to this country safely but has somewhere to stay as well as getting to the event and meeting up with the rest of us. this is providing that Blaster can make it and is are ok with what i have proposed.

What! Don't you expect me to do anything. I'd be surprised if I can sober up enough to organise myself going, let alone anyone else.

Then its high time you stepped up and took some responsibility boy. I have no problem with people contributing to meets providing its constructive and helpful. And seeing as you helped him its only right that you take responsibility for your actions and followed it through, instead of only contibuting by insulting people and trying to gain one up manship over others.
So as far as i am concerned you have two options. you either make sure that he gets here safely or two you just don't bother turning up which not only gets you out of the bind that you created but also means i don't have to put up with your ugly mug allday.
Oh and Blaster, i apologies for this situation but you have to understand my concern over this and want to make sure that if you are able to attend as well as you enjoy it.

As tempting as that is, it doesn't quite justify the waste of £90 if I get onto the course.
But thank you very much for the offer.

Well, the good or bad news for some? I will not be coming. work rostar has been changed, and I have to work. And as I have a weeks Holiday in December, I have to make way for others. As we have no children. Christmas being a family thing and all, guess I should be Thankful. However, I intend to make one meeting in the not to distant future. As most of you guys are well cool, so without being to soppy? I hope to meet up soon, as i have family ties in North England. By the way, Frankfurt has regular flights from England, and the Christmas Market is fine, Beer and warm Glühwine, and plenty of Irish Pubs, so for a weekend I guess something could be sorted out.

I'm afraid I have to drop out of this one
The money situation is becoming more and more dire and is continuing to dig deeper into the minus...without finding an extra few hundred quid I can't dig myself out of this one in time for the meet

9.10.11.12 in November Free I would have so much liked to have come. Meet the faces behind the mask, have a good old English pint, Fish N' Chips, Sh*t, work truly sucks at times. Hope however next year something fitting will pop up. As you all seem like a nice bunch of Geeks and has been a pleasure thus far.

I'm pulling out too I'm afraid. It's not YCFC related either - my missus has invited her cousin and wife to stay with us that weekend and she's putting her foot down about it. I've only met them twice, and once was at their wedding this summer. Apparently I was uncomplimentary about their first dance. I didn't see it and I said something about need a **** so I was in the ****** at the time. I've been told to be on best behaviour.
