Good thing I held off on the Metroplex KO!

Also, let us all join together in a hearty laugh on the expense of all those who didn't.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Now remember, do not buy this figure just to own it. Buy this figure also to show your support to Takara, to show there is market for the big citybots; thus, hopefully, pave way to the rest of the big geewuns; Trypticon, Scorponok...perhaps even Fortress Maximus.

Considering Takara's track record, I wonder if Metroplex will suffer/enjoy some subtle alterations. I myself could see them remolding the face to feature the cartoon/comic-accurate 'goggles' instead of eyes.

If I were to buy it, I'd assume that BBTS, based on what I've heard round these parts, would not be the place to buy it from?

Well Skywarp and Thundercracker are a step in the right direction. Though I already have Hasbro's reissues and I'm not forking out again just so I can get the right gun/missile pieces. If Thrust and Ramjet were to appear however... Metroplex has me very interested though. A reinforced waist wouldn't go amiss.

Skywarp and Thundercracker are being released as a set?  Seems to good to be true...

Metroplex is a double-edged sword though.  No-one in the their right mind would buy the bootleg now, but what about the stores with existing stock of it?  They'll surely drop their prices if they can't shift them, thus increasing interest in the bootleg from 'bargain' buyers.

Hey, you get what you pay for. Nem's right in that prices of any KO Metroplexs will now probably drop sharply but if you pay s**t, you get s**t.

Seeing Shockwave isn't Takara's to begin with (and I saw him listed in the 'lost/destroyed' molds list) I severely doubt it...

I hope Metroplex sells well. Maybe that'll prompt TakTom to release more of the big bots (and show there's market for more than just the first-year geewuns).

Omega and Sky Lynx were Toyco IIRC (and Shockwave was Toybox, I believe). Presumably Tomy acquired the rights to the first two somewhere along the line.

Dunno how true that is, he was re-released in the RID line a few years ago.

Fort Max can't be rereleased in the USA due to failing safety tests, but he can be in Japan/Korea, hence the 2001 Brave Max.

ToyCo = Shockwave, Toybox = Omega/Sky Lynx.

Toybox became part of Tomy at some point and they kept the molds in storage.
