Thought I would try this out with some of you chaps. I
know I’m not the only one to have purchased
a House and maybe talking about various
bits and bats might help the general camaraderie into this Community we have. Plus the fact that some you guys build and fix
and so forth shows great thinking minds. I enjoy this forum and misunderstood at times I might be I cherish
the general chit chat in and outside the fan base so with that in mind.
Just started yesterday the Boiler stroke Wash room,
Scraped two walls down lined it with Damp proof Silicon Stuff and have started to paint it, and hence it being the Wash and
Boiling Room it’s absolutely horrendous working conditions, due to the heat. There’s
half a head room to the ceiling and I feel I’m going crazy at times, lol.
I have
finished the garden and the new Pond, after the last one Burst, paved the most of the garden and I must admit, I am
happy with the outcome and it’s fun at times, it is not completely finished, but you can see effort..we have 3 Levels in the Garden not, which makes for space.
Before.
After shots 1 and 2
It's rough looking here I have since patched that up, built in night lights started a rockery at the side, planted plants and such...

QUICK! Put a towel on that sun lounger before anyone else like a proper German!
I've yet to take any photos of my place, but it's not as impressive as yours, we're still not finished and, in all honesty, I'm getting fed up with it all. Things haven't been done right when we've trusted other people (we had to re-do the bathroom after the first guy cocked it up), delivery's haven't been made, promises haven't been kept, and the money spent is ridiculous. Plus, to top it all off, at the end of it, with the Economic Crisis affecting house prices the way they are, we'll be lucky to have broken even on the value despite the significant improvements we've made.
Next place we buy, will have to need nothing except minor decorating done to it I can tell you.

Apart from the Kitchen and the Master Bathroom I wiil not and can not touch. Everything else like the garden and so on I read u ask and learn. As for the Impressive look thanks, but the foundations were there they are just getting embellished if you will. There is still lots to do. But the house is bought and I will not be moving again, so with that I can afford to take my time, and have no pressures on me. As for our area tas also been hit, the loss and price some have lost and are loosing is horrific. Bit by bit SLL, Rome wasn't built in a day.
As for the Proper Germans on Hols bloody hate them, truly hate them.

Nice pond, looks like a good few hours of work have gone in to it from seeing other pictures of what you have done in your house you seem to be some what of a perfectionist nice...either that or your missus has nagging down to a tee
I am happy that we now have grass... that was fun digging out the remains of the old houses that used to stand on the land before my house did, its amazing what builders actually decide to bury...needless to say the garden had patio layed along the house and was then left as hills of mud and builders waste...or as the housing association like to call it a 'blank canvas'.

All I've done is regrout my bathroom. Despite it being a new house, the grout between the bathroom floor tiles cracked quite quickly, so I took out the loose bits, and chipped away the rest. Then I just filled in the gaps with new grout. It looks better than before now, because the floor grout now matches the wall grout, as before they had used grey grout on the floor, and beige on the walls. Now it's all beige. It's not a perfect job, but it looks alright. I'll probably redo it when I decide to move, so it looks good for buyers, but it only takes about an hour, so it's no big deal, then a quick once over with sandpaper to get rid of excess a day later.

Being in a student house it's not exactly at the top of our priorities, but we do have a weird little veggie patch now and soon to have a little hutch thing full of chickens that we'll let out (I won't tell the other housemates where they've gone come Christmas time).

Yeah, we've just refitted and redone the upstairs bathroom and it is amazing what some nice grouting and sealant can do. Looks much better than what we had before.
