G.I. Joe/Action Force and Transformers media have usually been in continuity with each other(the main exceptions being Robots in Disguise and the Unicron Trilogy on the TF side and Sigma 6 on the G.I. Joe side) in the past, so it would make sense for 2009's G.I. Joe to connect to the Transformers film series. There's a very reasonable explanation for G.I. Joe's being set up already in place: Sector Seven must have used up a considerable amount of tax dollars, and since we all know that the United States Government doesn't like to actually spend alot of their money on schools, police, and the Border Patrol(especially the Border Patrol), it would be reasonable for the money(and possibly some of the personell) previously used by Sector Seven to be used to set up G.I. Joe. Whether Captain William "Wild Bill" Lennox will be part of said elite force is unconfirmed as of yet, though it would make sense.

That'd be a cool tie-in movie.

The problem is, as far as I've seen reading the letters pages of Devil's Due's GI Joe vs tf, is that the gi joe die hard fans don't like the idea of introducing giant alien robots into the gi joe universe.

I think tf fans are a little less precious about their universe. The gi joe die-hard nutcases (mostly american, obviously) seem to be a lot more protective about introducing more broadly sci-fi concepts into their world.

Obviously, the tfs wont turn up, but a sector seven mention or something would be cool. hardly essential though.

That's exactly what I meant, dannyannimus. The only characters from Transformers that they would need to use are Defense Secretary Keller, Agents Simmons and Bannecheck, and possibly Captain Lennox. They only need to discuss what to do with the tax dollars that Sector Seven was using, nothing more.

i am sold! i hope the LAM keeps her accent. ahh.... cobra command, i know their terrorist but they sure are awesome, though I'd hate it if they were real. (as in not-fictional.) are they still going with the whole "real american hero" tag line? it's rather not PC nowadays.

I think I read it was going to be called GI Joe: Rise of Cobra. Take that as a rumor for now, though.

i much prefer the original original rumored cast way back around early 2000 when they wanted laurence fishburn as destro and michael clark duncan as roadblock.........i absolutely despise ray park....over glorified stunt coordinator..........that being said i was never really a joe fan, but i'd love to see a tf tie in of some kind.
