I'd really like a G1 style Jazz, as he's one of my top favourites, but an original MIB G1 would be a bit too expensive.
So I thought of a reissue one.
But a friend of mine alerted me that reissue Jazz had a different face which is - ugly...
reissue Jazz face
So the question is - is it true to all reissues, both Hasbro and Takara, or not?

Well blow me down. Didnt know the face was different. Didn't really give it too much thought to wonder whether the original had that starnge sneer thing going on. Still, he's an awesome toy. The face doesnt bother me much tbh. As for the Takara one being the same face-wise...I don't think it does. I just checked on tfu and it brought me back to the '84 version so Im guessing they're pretty much the same. Dont know how much the Takara one goes for mind.

The messed up grin was a mold defect on Meister/Jazz that Takara didn't fix until the Stepper reissue.

There have been several different versions of Jazz's face over the years:

The version I own (from the gold boxed 'classic heros' of the early 90s) has the same face as the one labeled "G2" above.

Jazz has a better colourscheme than Stepper: it's nowhere near as tacky.

^ Quite. Stepper makes me feel rather queezy. Like eating mints on an aeroplane.

Stepper's colour scheme is the same as Jazz, except that the black and white coloured parts are swapped round, the chrome is gold instead of silver and he has flame stickers rather than Martini Racing ones.

Yeah. It's exactly the same, but completely inverted: IE different.
