when i first joined the forum i said that i didnt like beast wars.
i would now like to retract that statement, ive just watcfhed the first episode and im hooked,
please tell me its stays as excellent as the first episode, i know its supposed to be quite dark and im looking forward to watching them all

The first series is quite good, but it gets better at the second series and the third series is just fantastic, nice to have another one converted to the Beast Wars side.

What I love about Beast Wars is the fact it is quite dark but it has its lighter moments to. It’s full of Pastiches and homage’s. The Characters are well thought out and grow and develop. Hell It has dramatic tension which isn’t really seen in many TF series. Intelligent dialogue, as well as a layered plots that move at a steady and progressive rate. And they call it a cartoon.

I got it from Netflix. Beast wars is wonderful. Beast Machines is even better, I think. Of course its necessary to watch beast wars 1st and then beast machines.

I rate them:
Beast Wars Series 2 (All the best episodes)
Beast Wars Series 3 (All feels rushed in the pacing department, you have too many new characters to get to know in the time)
Beast Wars Series 1 (Too many single, basic episodes)
Beast Machines (still good but you have to take it with a pinch of salt), there was alot of hostility towards it when it first aired, I watched it a few days later over here via encoded Realmedia files from america.

I do agree that season 3 was rushed, especially towards the end. I believe I read somewhere that the writers wanted another season but weren't allowed to, so they had to to finish the story. Kinda like Rebirth.

Well, there was meant to have been a whole sub-plot with BW Megatron having to mentally fight G1 Megs for control of his body after absorbing his spark.
And Season 2 is easily the best season. Once you hit Bad Spark, you have six episodes back to back that are easily the best thing that have ever come out of TF fiction.
Season 1 is OK, but has too many filler episodes, and Season 3 has some cracking episodes, but suffers from being rushed, an emphasis on kiddie elements (the protohuman kids, Looney Tunes humour), and one or two many characters that don't get enough time. Oh, and there's Go with the Flow. Which suffers from all the above faults, as well as having replaced a far more interesting episode.
