Isnt the reason Optimus Primal grew so much is because he took in the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. Like how Hot Rod became Rodimus Prime

Yes, Optimus Primal becomes Optimal Optimus due to taking on the Autobot Matrix of Leadership while the Maximals repaired the damages done to the original Optimus by the Predacon Leader.

Actually, it was the Spark of Optimus Prime he took. It just so happened to have been connected with the Matrix (the writers may have goofed on this part but it is true in the BW universe).

It was too powerful, thus it gave Primal his Optimal form. Better than the alternative... DEATH.

Because that's the way the script is written.

Seriously, I don't know; I forgot. I think that it might be because Predacon Megatron did something with G1 Megatron's spark (I remember that G1 Megatron's chest was opened up and there were some security wires that were active, ready to protect G1 Megatron's spark).

Megas captured the Maximals took the ark and placed the original G1 Megs spark into him, thus turning him into teh Dragon.

You forgot that Megs was thrown into the lava as well. The lava combined with Megatron's new power could've resulted in his beast mode's evoloution.
