Ello, just joined the group. This is my first post.
just bought series one of Beast Machines, its good but where does it fit into the Transformers continuity? What happened to Primus, why does Cybertron have a organic core? I thought Cybertron was Primus. Is Beast Machines accepted as canon?

Because Beast Wars, while a sequel to the G1 cartoon, tries to amalgamate cartoon and comic continuities, and Beast Machine is a sequel to BW.
IIRC, in this continuity, Primus was actually a benevolent Quintesson.

Ignore what cyber jam says.
G1 continuity is f**king confusing. Basically the G1 cartoon and G1 comic are separate continuities in themselves, not to mention the UK comics clash with the US comics and the cartoon contradicts itself repeatedly.
Beast wars confuses matters further by drawing on aspects of both the comic and cartoon, as does Beast Machines. You can regard Beast Wars/Beast Machines as a sequel to G1, but certainly not the sequel to G1.

Uber, its odd that in the Beast Machines time line the maximals are destroying everything that Cybertron is and stands for, strange having a world called Cybertron thats covered in grass! Maybe it should be called Veggietron home of the Veggiebots! I wanna be Optimus Turnip!

Blame...blame...the, uh...the guy who wrote BM.
A lot of people seem to hate Beast Machines, and considering that outcome, it's hardly surprising.
Hippieformers!

An example of TF comic continuity in Beast Wars: Using 'Primus' as a curse word, as well as the writers wanting the Vok to be an evolved, sentient version of the G2 swarm.
Cartoon continuity involves the use of Teletraan-1, the crashed Decepticon ship, The Nemesis (Which, in the comics, never crashes, but remains in orbit around Earth, cloaked), as well as Starscream's ghost, which was created in Transformers: the Movie.
TF:TM did however happen in the TF comic continuity, but that future version of events was wiped out by Time Wars, and Unicron arrived at Cybertron under different circumstances: notably, a lot earlier. Granted, Starscream states that his spark, once severed, ended up beyond the reach of time and space itself, allowing him to appear in comic continuity, but that doesn't explain how Maximal Scientists would thus have been aware of him in order to create Starscream's 'son': Protoform X.

And this is just one of the many "continuity" gaps there are when trying to connect the G1 universe to the beast wars/Beast Machine universe.

Your best bet is to watch everything in the order it was made. Its pretty clear then how everything fits together. Except when it isnt.
