not so much a sequel as a prequel and a separate perspective, but it does however explain where barricade went before the big fight....kind of

Noone else read it yet or something? Get vocal, ppl! Anyway, i like the fact that it ties into the movie prequel that came with the steelbook Dvd version, which at least puts my mind at rest about which version i needed to buy (transforming box or sexy tin with comic). The artwork was ok, but the inking was a little too bold, and as such a lot of the art was just a mass of random lines, the movie-style designs didn't really help either. The explanation of barricade's disappearance from the film is just a bit of a rush, and contradicts the movie adaptation (although if they're keeping the character alive, i suppose that had to be done) - but just driving into a concrete pillar seems a bit of a cop out. The spaceship chase was a little confusing due to the amount of stuff happening, and dreadwing's apparent demise was a bit difficult to follow.
Also all this sequel stuff does seem to completely bollox up all the tf-uk continuity (which is probably for the best) although the lack of appearances by jazz, ratchet and ironhide might mean that their disappearance at the hands of devastator/brawl (called brawl in this incarnation, confusingly) might be accepted into the movie canon. All in all i would give this 7.2 on the fudge scale of goodness.

It was ok, not very sequel so far is it.

Art is a bit iffy in my view.

Another IDW title where they fail to deliver.

To be honest, it met my expectations. They were very low expectations though. And i'm a tad grumpy i got sent cover a instead of the wonderful 'all are dead' retro cover b.

Anyone else have trouble getting it? It's nowhere to befound in Liverpool.

If anyone could pick me up a copy, I'd be happy to pay them.

I hope you got wet!

So it sounds like the issue is a bit of a recap of the prequel and movie but from Starscream's viewpoint

It contradicts tf-uk's starscream strip, what with screamy getting allspark energy out of xboxatron, vending machine supreme et al and then buggering off. It's probably for the best though because that was awful.

Methinks I may just bypass the subsequent issues and wait for the inevitable TPB to come out.  I really need to stop buying every individual issue of a series and then also picking up the book as well.  At least this'll let me save a couple of quid every month, as well as a little shelf space!

Hey, at least he's still alive!  That's more than can be said for Bonecrusher, Blackout, et al!
