Good grief. Is this a temporary reprieve from mediocrity or has Furman begun to tread the path of the well-written?

Lack of displeasing dialogue (I won't be pedantic and mark him down for Cyclonus' use of alliteration. This time), increased pace, and a somewhat major plot advance. The first issue of the ongoing that's had me read avidly in some time.

Thoughts, gentlemen.

yes I liked this one as well- it seems to be picking up pace, I also enjoyed
Straxus at the end of it.

Depending on where they plan to leave this- they have lots to do in three
issues to wrap up the Dead Universe arc.

I don't think they'll wrap up the whole dead universe storyline, probably just a particular battle. I hope so anyway.

It's generally excellent, although I do got a few minor niggles with it.
Firstly, there's just too many characters all over the place, this is just going to scare off casual readers, especially those who have just stuck with the main series and avoided the spotlights.
Secondly, the 'two-headed' optimus frame just looks daft.
Thirdly, with All Hail Megs due in the next couple of weeks, is this whole dead universe nonsense going to affect continuity in any noticable way? I mean, if a year later the universe hasn't been eaten up by nemmynova's evil plan, should we really give a monkeys?

I agree about the 2 headed optimus frame, they should have split the frame in 2, but kept the rest as one drawing.

The ramifications of the dead universe also crossed my mind. time will tell.

I also thought there were far too many characters making rushed and somewhat unnecessary cameo appearances.  We had, what, 19 or 20 characters cropping up in the space of almost as many pages?  The entire '-ation' series to date hasn't featured that many characters!

Edit:  Well, okay, perhaps it has.  But only just.

it looks OK but am not as hyped up about it as the rest of you because I got a feeling it will end in disappointment but so far I will give it it due it could lead to something exciting at the same time.

Kcolmirg is Furman's new character. Really enjoyed this issue, albeit Thunderwing's return is a bit of a shame.
