Ahh, you can feel the effect of the cram now. Oh dear, I knew Furman couldn't wrap it up in two.
Quite satisfying though, but I'm disappointed that Nemesis Prime's reason for expansion isn't to further the Cybertronian ideal and preserve his own life, but merely to carry out the will of an ink-blot on the page.(Highlight)

It was far to busy, I fear next issue will be too.
Where as Dev could have been squeezed into 4, this needs 6.
The Magnificence was a real cop out!

It's the alien equivalent of a magic 8 ball. Couldn't there be some kind of anti-chamber and spectacular light show?
At least it's not a deus ex machina- it was set up as a plot device about 2 years ago. :P

so they planned a cop out well in advance!
Also calling it Spotlight DoubleDealer is a stretch, he is not in it much!

Enjoyable, overall, but definitely suffered from being too crowded. The problem with a few recent Spotlights has been that they've featured so many characters, that their title character hasn't really received adequate page time. The first lot of Spotlights (e.g. Ultra Magnus, Shockwave, Ramjet, Hot Rod) rarely featured more than half a dozen characters, so their star could be the centre of attention. Doesn't seem to be the case these days...
Anyway, as I said, a decent read. Some nice artwork by Khanna, especially on pages 16 and 20. Not sure if the whole arc can be satisfactorily concluded in just one more issue, but we'll see.

That is because they weren't originally intended to be spotlights, mind you.
I would argue that they've worked better in showcasing a character than previous spotlights as well- often previous spotlight's dialogue could have been applied to any TF character- Nightbeat's a good example I think.

I liked it, i'm curious as to if this is how Optimus is going to end up in the state he got in in All Hail Megs, or if he's going to escape the Blacksplodge of Doom (tm) with bits still attached. Doubledealer's actual end was a bit of an anti-climax, but i suppose since Arcee offed his boss, he wouldn't be left with much to do. I thought the Autobot Pretenders vs Cyclonus was rushed along and handled poorly, although it was nice to see old melty skull face coming back at the end (question is, will he be all jabber-mouth talkative as before or will he be a Thunderwing-esque zombie-type?)
