IDW released no Transformers comics last week, or the week before, and they don't have one coming out this week either ...

I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms. Hopefully they'll release two a week for a while, to make up for it...

I haven't really noticed to be honest, as I still need to read the IDW comics that I've bought in the last month or two.

Lucky for me i don't really buy IDW comics that much.

I'm still collecting Marvel ones etc.

I have Hearts of Steel, and The preview of infiltration, but other than that i don't have any.

I wanna get StormBringer but infiltration just looked poor to me.

I don't really like the human aspect, hearts of steel had too much for my liking too.

In my opinion DW's art was better too.

Ahh. . .Discuss... lol

While we on the subject of comic release, I was wondering if anyone knows when Stormbringer TPB is released?

I didn't really want to make a topic just for a date.

Thanks in advance

Don't fret dude, the art in Stormbringer is a lot better than in Infiltration.  If memory serves, it was Don Figueroa who pencilled it, and it is very reminiscent of his DW stuff.  Plus, there are no humans at all to get in the way!

No humans in Stormbringer, but there are Nebulans... It's all very subjective, really, and down to your own tastes - personally I love what EJ Su's doing - his style's a mid-point between the Marvel and Dreamworks styles, and he fits the Earth-bound storyline better than Figueroa's style, which is better suited to the off-planet, Transformer-focussed storylines.

And Earth-based stories are vital to the Transformers world, as the Transformers are robots in disguise... otherwise it might as well be about any robot race fighting a civil war. The human/Transformer interaction is an important angle to look at, and Simon Furman has worked it brilliantly. I thought Infiltration was excellent, and Escalation seems, so far, to be even better.

If this makes you think I hate Stormbringer, though, nothing could be further from the truth - I think it was stronger story arc than Infiltration. I just think there should be a balance between Earth-set (Infiltration, Escalation) and offworld (Stormbringer, Spotlights) stories, and the continuity seems to be balancing it very well.

Post of the month. Is it because I agree with him? Maybe. Is that horribly unfair? Of course it is. ^^

*points to EBay* All of them for £5.

Oh dear lord...you're judging IDW on Hearts of Steel? That's probably the only bad comic they've produced (save for the Movie Adaption. But that's Budiansky being a lazy hack). Its nowhere near fair to judge them on that.

In response to the end of your statement; Infiltration is great. Read it.

I've not really noticed the drought as I'm so far behind in reading them. I've got no time apart from when I'm at work and that's when I post on here! I'm going to make a concerted effort tonight and catch up.

(on a side note) I'm really annoyed that I forgot to use my travelling man money off vouchers this week - I bought like 8 tf comics (I'm a sucka for the different covers) 'cos I've been away over Christmas. If anyone wants to get some off me just PM. I've got like two booklets full. It's all £3 off £20 spent or £20 off £100 etc. I'm sure can afford a second class stamp or two!

i dont mind the Style of E.J. Su, but i would not mind getting meself some more of Don Figueroa's work since i quite liked his artwork in the Armada comics and the cover for the US 20th anniversary edition of Transformers the movie, but i do think that IDW are doing a good job with the "new wave" of Transformers comics, even through i did not start reading the comics till a few months ago, and that Started with the UK Marvel Story Target 2006
