Looks lovely. I hope we get to see some cassette tape-based action.

I wanna see a Blurr spotlight. And a Wheelie spotlight. And a Brawn spotlight. And a Skylynx spotlight. And a Scourge spotlight. And a Slugfest spotlight. And a Rumble spotlight. And a Battletrap spotlight. And a Metroplex spotlight. And a Reflector spotlight. And a Wreck-gar spotlight with much moustache action.

Excellent stuff, but am I alone in wishing (even after his 'adaptation' of the animated movie) that Bob Budiansky had written it? His characterisation of Blaster was far superior to Furman's, and it's not often that I'd say something like that...

I don't like the head - it's just as if they are trying to find a compromise between the cartoon version and the old Marvel version - and failing at it.

Bob bloody budansky shouldnt be allowed near anything transformers related ever again. And this blaster design isnt too bad, it all really depends on how they colour that visor.

I just assumed they were using the comic version rather than the 'toon one. You mean his eyes are visible?

That, and the forehead plate looks like the cartoon version as well.
I wish they'd left out the nose-bar-thingy.

Simon has updated his blog with a script wrap from this very spotlight. There are mild spoilers provide a gist of the story and who this IDW Blaster this will be. Enjoy!

Well it doesn't really help that all characters (save Sunstorm) are over 15 years old. Most of their characters have been specified, and most fans wouldn't accept it if Furman changes a character so drastically.
So if there is an Autobot traitor, there are hardly any choices besides Doubledealer and Mirage. And the latter has already been explored in DreamWave's volume 2.
