My computer is sehr kaput.
I'm constantly getting 'stop' errors. Invalid page loads or something. I can't ever get windows to start up.
Help please?

It's my professional opinion that it's f**ked.
Seriously though, back everything up, try formatting, it's drastic but it usally works - if it still doesnt, it could be a hardware error.

It's going to be hard to back everything up when I can't access the operating system, I fear.
It keeps telling me something about invalid page loads. Anyone got a CD-Rom based boot disk (my floppy drive has never worked). Do such things even exist?

If you're running XP - onwards then it's built into the installation disc.

Need a bit more info to be able to help...
-What version of windows are you using? -Can you boot into safe mode(normally, press F8 when your comp is starting up, just as it's going from bios to windows) -What is the *exact* error you are getting, and is it on a blue screen? -when exactly does the error message appear?
The below may help, but it's mostly worst case scenario stuff and some of it quite annoying to do:
If you want to back up your data, the way I would do it is to remove the Hard disk, plug it into another computer, and copy the files off....of course, this is assuming you have access to another comp with the space for a second hd. Another way to get at the files is to boot from usb, using somthing like damn small linux, but this assumes your bios will boot from USB, which a lot don't. Another way is to buy a hard disc caddy(from maplin if you're in a hurry, but they charge a bit more), plug your hard drive into it, and use it as an external usb drive on another comp, offload your files there for safekeeping, plug it back in to your comp, boot from cd and format your drive and slap windows back on, then either put it back in the caddy for a while, or use a flash disc or some such to copy the data back from whether you stored it.
If you don't care about your data, the solution is easy; put a windows cd in, press f12 on startup, and tell it to boot from cd, which gives you the option of formatting your disk & install windows on it....but I expect you *do* want your files.

the old BSOD (blue screen of death)
the best thing to do is try and get into safe mode, if you can, then run all your anti virus and spy-ware programs.
have you updated any hardware on this machine, i remember installing a DVD drive into a mates machine years ago on XP Home and it would BSOD every time we tried to use it, had to format it.
