Anyone seen this yet?  The Sony Rolly is an awesome dancing MP3 player.  They will are available in Japan in Sept, but the US site has a 'coming soon' type page.  My friend works for Hughes, and they showed 2 of them dancing in sync via Bluetooth at a recent conference (not point doing so if they aren't going to sell them at some point).

Have a look, cos my friend was trying to describe them to me about them earlier, and I was like "Yeah, yeah"...

But then he sent me the YouTube link...

I'm in two minds about this product. It's no good as a portable player because it'd be rolling around in your pocket and when I'm at home I prefer to have a proper hi-fi as the sound quality will be much better. As a result the thing isn't very practical. But that said it's undeniably a very clever gadget and the video puts such a massive grin on my face.

It's about as useful an MP3 player as AIBO is a dog... but that's not why you want it

yes check out:

http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/06/sonys-rolly-music-player- robot-coming-to-the-us-this-spring/

Everyone's favorite, lovable, and totally confusing music player / dancing speaker is coming to the States this spring. As we've extensively detailed, the odd little oval is packed with all kinds of zany abilities, not the least of which is playing MP3 or AAC files via Bluetooth with A2DP off of its 2GB (which is an improvement on the Japanese version's 1GB) of flash memory. No word on price right now, but you won't care once you see how darn cute the little guy is.
