Just wondering, after hmv started selling the series boxsets, who like me is considering collecting them? and what would your holy grail purchase be.  For me the sword of thundera replica is a must (got clouted by that as a kid more than once lol.

Yeah the cartoons even better than I remembered. Transformers is a just a big toy commercial. I just read about the episode Starscreams ghost where it was meant to be Blitzwing being chased, but they replaced him with Octane to promote the toy. I digress any way I was thinking of just buying Cheetara MOC. What a babe.

I was more of a Wylie Kit or Pumyra man myslef.

If i was gonna do something with Thundercats id would contiune with the 'Dark Future' comics from a few years back. THE RETURN and DOGS OF WAR were awesome.

Id love to see a figure of Bobcat and older King Lion-O

Thundercats is more organised than the tf cartoon. The second season of thundercats is 13 5 part stories, all with a continuing arc. thats not uncommon nowadays, but back then, it was quite new. I'm just waiting for the price to come down a bit before i buy it.

The only thing that marrs thundercats is the slightly hammy acting (particularly on Lion-O), but it does hold up extremely well considering its age. Much better than the original TF cartoon, in my opinion. Some nice animation techniques used - foreground cells adding depth to the whole thing. good stuff.

Is that 1 of the stories that was edited together & released as a movie? Thundercats Ho! I think it was.

yes a special video release for the UK market that stitched together the first five episodes of season two. They introduced Pumyra, the other Tiger guy and the old blind fella who were also refugees from Thundera whom, by amazing coincidence, also ended up on Third Earth. I forget how, but they definately get very close to boarding the Thundercats' craft. After some minor scuffles involving Lion-O and Mumm-Ra, all is well and they are offically ordained as Thundercats.

Its a decent story, but as with the She-Ra: Secret Of The Sword 'movie' (again five episodes stitched together) it feels overlong and doesn't half drag. Viewed as single instalments, its a bit more tolerable. Plus, it has some lovely character development and some good fleshing out of Thundera's society and how ordinary 'Thunderians' perceive the Thundercats.

If I remember rightly they were rescued by those robo bear things on Thundera.

I think I might still have the vhs somewhere in the house.

I didn't know it had carried on after that.

Has any1 heard any more about this proposed animated film they were planning? It was going to be done in style similar to the TMNT film that came out a while ago.

they stuck around, and helped rebuild thundera. If I remember right, the exploded planet still had a gravitational pull, so reformed, but they still had to rebuild. they also managed to put out a beacon to the normal thunderan escapees, who all turned up.

and i now bang my head repeatedly on my desk - a destroyed planet has a gravitational pull and reforms itself

By the end of season 2 - Bengali, and Lynx-O had become mainstay characters over the likes of Tygra who stayed on Third Earth and was barley seen for some reason.

I didnt like that they defeated Mumm-Ra like 5 times and everytime the ancient Spirits of Evil just brought him back and gave him one more chance to defeat the thundercats. It took all the granduer away from the fact they finally did 'defeat' him in the last episode.

I dont think Tygra even appeared in the last epsiode at all.

Bengali died in the comics in THE RETURN.
Cheetarah and Tygra had Thunderkittens.
and it would seem Wylie Kit had become Mumma-Ra sex slave.

wylie kit became mummras sex slave - eerrhhmm tut tut.

Found it amusing that the (quote) ancients spirits of evil, finally saw threw mumm-ras everyday routine 1.think up evil scheme 2. find a new toy to mass market...oopss soz badguy to take on lion-o And finally get ass whooped and be home for dinner.  lol sounds the same as megatron (hhmm megs versus mumm-ra i wonder who would win)

Anyway im flicking threw my science books looking on how an exploded planet reforms itself exactly as it once was......cant seem to find the chapter
